Does anyone have any pictures of the Polished MK40?? Or even a polished MK9??? It's my understanding that Kahr has 2 different finishes for it's MK series; a Matte Stainless and a Polished Stainless. I cannot find either of these versions at my local dealers so I would greatly appreciate if I can see some pics of these 2 different variations. Many thanks as always.

PS - I am considering the MK40, so I would love to hear from those who have or shot the gun as to their likes and dislikes. How was the recoil, etc.

I just bought an MK9 Elite 2003. I don't have the gun yet but I do have a couple pictures of it. the finish is supposed to be polished.

nice gun, you won't find the elite sitting in dealer showcases. to much money, Normally you wil have your trusty dealer order it for you. They are available, just not a stocking item. I would buy the MK9 Elite over the 40 elite. That is a small small gun and that 40 cal is very punishing indeed. Great guns though both of them..

I carry the MK40 every day, and practice with it regularly at the range. I previously carried the MK9, and when I switched to the .40, there was a bit more recoil, but still not unpleasant. It actually became quite fun to shoot. Long but very smooth trigger pull.

Howdy,
Had one and had to send it back for repairs. After it came back fired nice. Recoil not too bad, slide ate the web of my hand though. Remember to keep changing the recoil springs often. Sold it, needed cash. Would own one again but would radius the slide bottom corners inside and out and at the back, also the safety rear. Factory said they had problems feeding S&B FMJ's which mine did. IMO not a pocket pistol, fairly heavy but size and power are impressive.

I've carried and regularly train with my MK40 for 8 years now,Not one problem, fed every thing I've tried in it,has wood grips and stainless guide rod. It's been carried pocket, owb, and iwb.I also maintain it ,cleaned and lubed every 30 days and after every range session...Awesome gun, will buy another when this one ever wears out. To me the recoil is no big deal,I've been a tradesman for 20 years so my hands can take the punishment no sweat.

They really need to come out with some checkered rubber grips and front strap checkering. Firing a stock MK9 or MK40 in the summertime is like trying to hang on to an ice cube. Even if your hands aren't sweaty, it isn't much better.

I have

the kahr rubber grips on my K9 and I think they are the same design for the MK, and I like them. I get a good feel with them. Not checkered but slippery either. One could take a wood buring tool and texture the rubber grip really easy.

I have the wood gripson my K9 now and I also like them for they fill my hand better and it is my range gun, also and it looks damn nice with those kahr wood grips onit to..

I put Skateboard grip tape on my front strap and it works great. I just bought the MK9 elite 03 after having problems with my MK9. its at the gunsmith(thanks jocko but it didnt work and I took off a lot) my gunsmith fired it and had the same problem so I know its not my fault. Anyway, I can barely tell the difference between the MK9 and the Elite 03's slide. I know you said mk40 but its basically the same thing.

didn't know that. one cold texture the plastic with a wood burner tool to give some grip. stippling.
