I voted no. A right only granted to a select few (in this case, military officer applicants) is not a right, it is a privilege. Certainly unAmerican.

Do you think it's a good idea to allow college students to carry handguns on campus?

Did I miss somewhere where it said it would be granted selectively?

Under his proposal, students would have to meet several conditions, including being enrolled in an ROTC military training program, having no felony or misdemeanor convictions, and completing a gun skills course.

The poll wasn't asking if the law was good or not, it was asking if letting students carry was a good idea.

I voted yes because it is a good idea to let students carry. We allow it in Utah under the states CCW law and have had no issues that I know of.

Thanks for the clarification. That seems kind of odd to have a requirement be ROTC enrollment, but whatever. I'm agreeing with MarshallDodge on this one, though.

I dislike biased and misleading polls.
Either you vote against the right to carry, or your yes vote will be implied to mean you support the very restrictive allowance for those in the ROTC program.
Neither sounds like a win to me.

That is how the result is going to be tallied.
