I have both. For all around shooting (plinking, IDPA, etc...), both are tops. For all around shooting and carrying, I would say the p226, but in reality I went with the smaller p229, p228 and p225 for carrying.
For all around shooting, I would go with my W German 226. Just because it's lighter to carry. But I would probably find a poly pistol to carry and use 226/CZ75 for HD and range.
Depends on the trigger pull on the CZ...I HATE the DA on the Sig, but maybe that's just me. The Sig is really reliable and accurate though. I got the 226 in 40 S&W and also a 229 in 40 S&W.
Both are great pistols and I own both the P226 and CZ 75D PCR. If I could only own one... Bye Bye CZ. Fit, finish, trigger and sights are better on the SIG and the P226 is a LOT easier to take down. I own 5 SIGs and one and probably my only CZ, spray paint finish is dissapointing, but a fine pistol that is my primary carry weapon. For the money the CZ is a good choice, but the P226 is worth the extra cash...you get what you pay for.
I own several SIGS and CZs. In fact, I carry a SIG for work but would rather carry my CZ P-01. The CZ triggers get better with use and end up better than the SIGs and my P-01 shoots much tighter groups than my 9mm SIGs. Both brands make quality pieces but my preference for a 9mm goes to CZ. In .45ACP I'l take my SIG 220 (West German).
Jed the fit on your Sigs is better than the fit on your PCR? Really? My PCR, 97B, and 40B all had very tight fits, PCR especially had about zero play in it.
I agree that the finish isn't very pretty, but it works. Get it hard chromed or melonited or something if it really bothers you. It would probably still cost less than a Sig...
Very, very tough call!... Have both and they're really two different guns.
Somehow the CZ-75B is a 'sleeker-sexier' pistola than the P226... Have several SIGs and CZs and the CZs are VERY, VERY ACCURATE shoots. As mentioned, don't think I'd use either for CCW... my CCWs are the CZ P-01, SIG 229 and 225, in that order). Don't know where $$money comes into the equation for you but the 75B is about $250 less NIB than the SIG.
Again, very tough call... but everything considered, I'd go with the CZ-75B... and if you really want sexy, go for the Stainless model!!!
But then again, there's no reason to not own BOTH!!! Good luck.
I shoot better with a SIG than a CZ. Although both were under consideration when I was handgun shopping. Not to mention the SIG feels better in hand to me, and I find the SIG more aesthetically-pleasing. Ultimately I ended up with a Walther P99. My brother has a CZ and he swears by them.
