Of all the different types of guns, what type is most important for you to own?

I don't hunt and concealed carry is not allowed where I live. So for me it's a hard choice between the combat pistol and the combat rifle. Combat pistol gets the nod.

all of my guns are important to me lol, but if i was limited to just one it would have to be a pistol.

If I had to pick one category, it would be the Combat Rifle. It is the weapon best suited for the true purpose of the 2nd Amendment.

I don't worry about combat as I do not live in a war zone, so fun and games (clay targets) gets the nod - I'll put 10-15,000 rounds through my target gun a year

I'll go combat rifle because it can pull any of those duties listed except concealed carry and the right rifle could almost do that depending on what you are wearing.

For me it is all about reloading and accuracy and I do most of it with a target pistol or revolver. A close second would be a target rifle. Poll should have been first AND second choice IMO but thanks for the chance to think my priorities out once again.

Love em all! But if it were down to only one...My Marlin 30-30...I can hunt with...protect my home....and myself if need be, and I could never part with it anyway...sentimental :)

And if its bad situation...IE Survival .... I start looking for BG with 1911 first! LOL :what:

^^^^
For all-purpose, It's hard to argue with a Marlin 336 in 30-30 as "the one" gun if "one gun" is the goal.

I've gone full cycle in my life. I'm back to a bolt action .22 as my favorite.

CZ 452 Lux.

id have to say my hunting shotgun. i enjoy shooting my pistols and rifles, but there is nothing like shooting doves, clays, deer, and small game with a shotgun.

I don't hunt. I'm not using any of my personal firearms in combat. I cannot conceal carry where I live, only in the nearest state to me. I don't shoot skeet or trap. Though I have firearms that could fall under 5 of the categories listed, they are all (mainly) for target shooting. Since I have more rifles than handguns, I chose target rifle. Ironically none of my firearms were/are designed specifically for target shooting.

My Glock 23 over my shotguns and AR. Odds are if I have to defend me and/or my loved ones it will be on me or right next to me.

I'm at a loss to understand why everybody's asking us to "Show us your guns"
"What kind of guns do you CCW" etc. Seems a lot of these threads are suspiciously personal, IMO.

Not understanding what interest this info could possibly be to YOU:confused:

I voted combat pistol mostly because if I added up all the ammo I burn in a year (outside of 22's...), those would constitute the vast majority of the shooting.

A combat pistol can be a reasonable hunting arm as well as a concealed carry piece and home defense as well. I mean, if you had to, you could do it all with a .357 or .45.

I'm glad I don't have to do it all with one gun...

Umm, isn't there a bit of overlap with your categories, for example you have 'combat pistol', 'target pistol', and 'conceal carry pistol' categories. I have a Beretta 92FS and a Sig 1911, both of which I CC and target shoot with and both of which I'd assume would be considered combat pistols.

People hunt and target shoot with EBRs like the AR-10 too.

I think it’s a interesting question especially with the way the economy is today. We might not think about it but home security is a very issue especially if you live near a major city or on a farm where the nearest sheriff is miles away, if someone is in your house you have to be able to move free of restrictions and a narrow hallway or going down the basement stairs you wouldn’t want someone to grab the barrel. I guess it is good to take inventory once and awhile of our priorities.

A sporter target rifle for me, I guess. You can use it for hunting, target shooting, plinking, and I suppose defensive purposes.... and of course, it's a 22 rifle.
