the poly judge was released a while ago (or at least announced) like SHOT show 2010 I believe so it wasnt taurus one upping S&W but either way the Governer sounds even cornier than judge

ill stick with my 3 inch mag judge its a toy but still fun and not S&W priced

My bad, I hadn't been on the taurus website for a while and it had new under it so I thought it might had been this years release. I don't see much advantage to it anyways, it is 27 ounces and the regular public defender is 28.

The whole idea of a polymer revolver just seems wrong to me, but I'm getting old, cell phones seem wrong to me too. I have read on a Ruger fan site that some of the owners of the LCR have found that the polymer frame seems to absorb the recoil better then steel and the gun is fun to shoot. This might work well with the Judge, time will tell. I'll still buy a steel gun though.

I can't believe they actually make it uglier

ha... I'd say it took some serious thought and a lot of time in R&D, but they pulled it off.

Maybe they should make a polymer judge that shoots out of the bottom cylinder like the chiappa rhino. That would be a beauty.

I own both the steel judge and the poly LCR but I cant stand the poly judge at all

i think they made it just to say they did thinking the poly revolver craze would catch on bigger by now

as for the LCR i really do like it even more than my friends old S&W36 for carry

I actually really like the LCR. It took me awhile to get used to the look, and it too is an ugly little thing, but a great gun to shoot and carry. I love the beauty of older or more conventional revolvers though.

For .410, I'll stick with my Contender...Thompson Center. It's the original and the most useful in the field, but still just kind of a fun barrel for me. I shoot mostly the .30-30 barrel for hunting and the .22LR for small game. I got no real use for judges and governors or any other two bit politician. My fav carry is a 9x19. When I need a shotgun, I usually go for a 20, 12, or 10 gauge.
