taurus and S&W frame/grip compatibility, Medium and L?

Is the the Taurus "medium frame" grip identical to and compatible with grips made for S&W L frame revolvers?

No, they are similar but not the same. I recently tried a pair of Pach. American Legend grips made for a Taurus Mod. 66 on a S&W Mod. 586 in response to a question over at the S&W forum and the grips were not even close to fitting.

How about J-Frame grips as compared to M85 grips?

I know that S&W j-frame and Taurus M85 grips are NOT compatible. Looks like non of the grips are.
