Re--Portland Area Ranges & Gunshops
Hello 106rr
Tough question. There are two public indoor ranges to consider.

Both of them operate like a club with fees to join and maintain membership. PSTC seems to be the cheaper of the two on entry but it’s a clean range and one can only shoot their ammo. My first trip in the door ran just under a $50bill for a single box of .45acp. I was really annoyed on another trip when they charged me $5 for a box of CCI MiniMag and then wanted to mark the box so I could shoot the remainder on my next trip in, but I couldn’t shoot the same ammo bought from BiMart for half the price. TPST used to waive registration fees for out-of-towners, call them and see if they still do.
The clubs in the area would be very expensive for a single visit unless you contact them and they can offer a member to host your visit. The “Usual Suspects” and I, generally go to the Western Woods. Some of our pistols are banned in the indoor ranges and rifles are out of the question, .22lr excepted. I’m hoping to put together a trip on the 30th, you’re welcome to join us, drop me a line

On the coast, I can only refer to Lincoln City Sporting Goods. 800 SE Hwy 101, Lincoln City. In the true Oregonian small town approach to business, it’s an interesting place; part Radio Shack, part gun shop, and part sewing machine center. A visit is a look at small town Oregon in a single store. They may be able to refer you to other shops or ranges in the area. If you have a wife traveling with you, it’s a block from the Outlet Mall; everything a gunny finds useless for a lot less money. Women love the place. :I
As far as gun shops go.

BiMart is a true general store and GI Joes is sports and auto. Both can provide basics and have a lot of locations around the metro area. There are a lot of gun shops in the area; grab a phone book and tear out the page, there are too many to list and most of them don’t have web pages. Head and shoulders above them all, IMO, is.
