Positive Gun-Related Police Stories

I was involved in a MVA and handed the first of two responding officers my vehicle paperwork and CWL. I informed him I had a firearm on my person and one in the glovebox. He simply said, "Ok."

The second officer responding was the one to give me back my paperwork, and write me a citation. He apologized for having to do so, but it WAS my fault, so no point in arguing that. I also informed him of my carry status, to which he said the other officer had NOT told him I was carrying. I explained we had a tow truck on the way, and I wanted to secure the firearm in the glovebox, and he had absolutely no issue with my sticking it in my waistband and pulling my shirt over it.

Then as it turns out, he was also originally from NJ and moved to Florida. So he commented on how you can't do anything fun in NJ, but FL you can, such as obtaining a CWL.

Aside of the citation, which I deserved, it was a positive experience.
