Anyone got cool combat shotgun pictures. I am looking for a fully equipped shotgun, with light, ghost rings and sling. More would be nice. Please also describe all you have done to it.

Not a great pic....

870 Express, wood furniture, rifle sights, mag extension, custom leather shell cuff on stock. Set up for crossed up, left I dominant/right handed shooter.

Don't need any other mods.

One combat shotgun coming up. No light, no optional sights, just lots of extra ammo the best accessory IMHO.:D

It is a Remington 870 Marine Magnum with a shotgun shell sling.

The wife has a Benelli Nova Special Purpose with the Ghost Rings.

cslinger - I noticed that your picture is shows...

If that's accurate, you should have been on the boat with Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider. Then again, the movie would have been a lot shorter and less interesting.

As soon as i get home, i'll post you a picture of my winchester defender with the flashlight mounted on it.

I don't have any special sights or anything. I can put rifled slugs dead center of a taget at 25 yards with the High-Viz fiberoptic bead, and with buckshot it's just point and click.

Ayup that shark would have been grilled, seasoned and served up with a nice Chardonnay within about 45 minutes of the movie.

Now I would be lying if I didn't say that that movie didn't scare the bejezzus out of me since I saw it when I was like 7 years old. I still get antsy when I am in the ocean and cannot see under the surface and for years big swimming pools freaked me out until I realized ole' Jaws coudn't fit in most pools.

Funny thing is I was actually in the ocean with a buddy of mine when we looked and saw everybody out of the water on the beach and as we wondered why we saw a rather large dorsal fin break surface. I was young at the time so I don't have a clue how big the shark was but to me at the time it looked about Jaws size. Very sobering moment let me tell you.

Gewehr98, what are the specs on that shottie? Where'd you get the rear stock? What's up with the big block at the front sight?

You weren't kidding when you said it was pure business. I'm impressed.

That 870 can best be described as this:

Remington M870 Mark 1 US Marine Corps shotgun, selected by the US Marine Corps in 1966, is a Remington Model 870 shotgun slightly modified to suit the preferences of the Corps. The M870 Mark 1 is a rifle-sighted slide-action gun based on the commercial Remington 870 action, with a modified choke barrel.

This Vietnam-era shotgun is described further:

The military spec model Remington 870 called Remington 870 Mark 1 Military has a 21" cylinder bore (unchoked) , 3" chambers, overall 41.5", wt 8lbs, capacity of 7 rds (+1 chamber). Most loads are 00 buckshot - 9 pellets load mv 1300fps.

I cheated with mine, the stock is actually a Speedfeed Monte Carlo, I chose it due to the height of the rifle sights. The choke isn't USMC correct, either, I went with the threaded RemChoke system, it wears an Extra Full Turkey choke now for the 3" Magnum 000 Buck defense loads. (TIGHT pattern out to 40 yards) That "big block" out under the front sight is the factory magazine tube clamp, which also mounts the bayonet lug and sling swivel. Beefy, ain't it?

How do you like the 'pg' fixed stock compared to the standard stock?

Rat,

My preference is a pistol grip full stock. I like the way the grip feels, and I think a pistol grip is appropriate for a combat/competition type shotgun. I think the bottom line is the PG is right for me. Try one out for yourself and see what you think. Then decide what best fits your needs.

Here's an old picture of my M1S90.

It now sports a straight stock, +4rd magazine extention, GG&G oversized bolt release and last but not least, a lot more rounds out the business end.

Gewehr98,

How long did you have to search for the bayonet clamp assembly?

...

...and my girlfriend's.

Her's sports ghost rings (as evidenced by the photo) and 7rd magazine capacity.

Lumpy196, not very long.

I *fell into* two factory Remington boxed sets at a gunshow in Sacramento about 8 years ago. Once I researched what I had, I put one set away for safekeeping, and used the other set to rebuild a plain-vanilla 870 Express Magnum into that Mark I replica. :D
