Amen, Duke. Trimation, no worries, an 870 with 6+1+6 rounds of buckshot gets the point across 5x5 :)

Just that your two-tone assault shoes are reversed--they should be black with white stripes for infinite tacticality :D

LOL. Yeah I saw the shoes in there when I took it. What a dork I am. I am going to sound like I have been living in the dark ages when I tell you this, but it was the first time I even used a digital camera. I would really like to take a photography class. Even just here on THR you can see a huge difference in photos taken by people who know what they are doing vs. those who don't(like me).

It's getting near Saint Patricks day so here goes. BTW I created these in the early-mid 80's and they have all the bells an whistles available then . Both Tefloned, 870 is a magnum with custom flip up protected ghost ring sight. They have Win chokes as Rem chokes weren't invented. 1100 usually has a Russian Yukon NV sight for use around ranch at night. The 870 is a side of bed gun and has many rounds thru it but was rebuilt (again) a few years ago and is as smooth as my Model 31's! I also have a sporting 870 and 1100, for hunting.

I downsized from a Benelli M3 to this 870 police trade-in Winmaster. It came with the Williams ghost sight.

Here's a pic:

870, nothing fancy. 6+1 in the gun plus 6 on the side and 5 slugs on the buttstock.

And when I die let me die
With a dream in my mind
A smile on my face and no trouble behind
And no cross on my grave
To show my restin' place

bmwguy,

That 870 Police trade-in of yours, is just about the perfect defense shotgun. It's my favorite.

Ya it's a Strat. American made, '91.

Ringer, where'd you get a mount to hold that shotgun to the wall? How much do you have to pull to pop it out? How much did it cost? Have you ever had problems with the shotgun sticking in the mount?

In a single sentence, where can I get one? :D

Third_Rail

I bought the mount from Cheaperthandirt for $27. I don't think they carry it anymore, at least I can't find it on their website. It's made by Mossberg as you can see from the link gggman posted. You should be able to find it other places for less than buying it direct from Mossberg.

As far as removing the gun from the mount: There is a rubber coated muzzle hook that is about 4" long that you slide the barrel over then place the receiver into the lower mount and lower it about 1/2" onto a rubber coated post inside the lock box. So to remove the gun you lift up, pull the gun out from the mount then lower it off the muzzle hook. This is fairly easy to do. The mount comes with foam cushioning to protect the receiver but you still have to be a little careful not to scratch the gun. In the event of an emergency you could remove the gun pretty quickly once it's unlocked. I unlock it at night and lock it back up in the morning.

You can see better pics of it at Mossberg's website.

Hm, that could be what I'm looking for... I was hoping for more of a move a single bar out of the way (no lock) and pull the shotgun off the mount, straight out, you know?

Does anyone know of a mount like this? A sinlge crossbar holding the shotgun in the mount, lift the crossbar, then pull the shotgun off the wall.

Third Rail,

Just go to the hardware store and buy the rubber coated "muzzle" hook and the rubber coated "chamber" hook. Mount into a stud. You're done.

Mark

Yeah, I thought of that as well, I'm also making a cheapie crossbar to hold it there... only without the chamber hook, and a plate on the wall to hold the stock with a little lip as well, I'll post a picture when it's done.
