My reply to an anti-gunner who said "Violence causes more violence" was simply

"When I have to defend myself against violence, it was already there. I just chose how to end it."


A mom (friend of mine) asked me why I carry a gun. I asked her, "Would you rather have your daughter's date have a condom in his wallet, just in case?"
 
A THR member gets credit for this one. Unfortunately, I can't recall the member or the quote exactly, but the premise sure stuck with me.

One of my favorites came from one of THR Mods. Can't remember if it was Byron or Correia but it went something like "If you come out of there with a gun, the undertaker will be wiping your butt before morning".

DISCLAIMER: I don't go in much for the chest beating kind of statements but this was a "get control of the situation now or be hurt badly/die" scenario that happened to me as a rookie cop when some punks mistook me for a security guard on the property where they were dealing drugs.

It was quite a shock to them as the security guards were unarmed.
