Immigration is now being debated in the senate and on the streets. It might be helpful to see how others are communicating with their elected representatives on the issue of illegal immigration.

Sent to my two senators:

Dear Senator(s) X & Y

RE: Illegal Immigration Reform Legislation

I’ll be direct and to the point
· No “Guest Worker Programs”
· No amnesty
· No new legislation, just enforce existing law

Once the situation is under control, and only when it is under control, should deliberations begin on a “Guest Worker Program”.

The idea that criminals can demonstrate publicly demanding preferential treatment is preposterous.

The idea that government can selectively enforce the laws it considers inconvenient is preposterous.

What will happen when people like me decide to selectively obey laws I find to be inconvenient; taxes come to mind.

I hope you understand that there is an ill will blowing around <insert state>.

Do what is right, not what is politically expedient.

Best wishes,

Dear [Senator|House Member] X:

I know your time is valuable, so I'll get right to the point.

* Enforce existing laws.
This means actually checking social security numbers on I-9 forms. This also means harsh penalties for anyone that helps someone commit fraud on an I-9, especially an employer. Harsh monatary penalties. Again, existing law should be enforced.

* Enforce existing laws with COMPASSION.
People crossing the border are here to make a better life for their families. Let's remember that, and let's not start treating these people as if they are warlords or drug dealers, unless, they actually are.

* Properly secure the border.
Make it as hard to get across the border as it is to get through airport security with a pair of nail clippers. Do whatever the experts say we need to do.

* No guest worker program. YET.
I think we're jumping the gun on this one. Why is anyone going to go through a guest worker program when they'll have to go back when we tell them? They can just cross the border and continue to do what they do today.
Only when everything above is done, can we discuss a program like this.

Dear Sirs,

I hope I made my tax return clear enough. Please don't audit me. If I didn't send enough, please let me know and I will send more.

I want you to know that I really, really appreciate all you've done for me. Since my job was outsourced for your global "plans" I now have plenty of free time. It's almost like a vacation. And since you sent my kid over to be killed in Iraq for your boondoggle unpreparedness and pork-belly favors to your connected supporters, I have saved a bunch of money by not having to keep his room clean.

Yes, you have done me a lot of favors and I want you to be happy so you will wait just a little longer to take my guns too.

Your grateful constituent,

Lou Sernaguse

* Enforce existing laws with COMPASSION.
"

Didn't you forget "Family values don't stop at the Rio Grande?"

Someone needs to instruct our President on the fact that his job is not to teach us "compassion," inform us that family values supersede existing American law, or remind us that his feeling strongly about something allows him not to listen carefully to the people who put him in office.

I have one word for you: bunk.

Dear Senator Murray:

I'm writing to voice my support for open borders.

Our president is headed in the right direction, but he hasn't gone far enough.

We get stronger every time an immigrant crosses the border.

It needs to be easier to become a citizen, and we need to encourage those who wish to join us to do so.

Thank you for your efforts.

Sincerely, me.

Unlawful entry into the U.S. is a crime and a serious one. It undermines our basic rule-of-law system. It poses a significant threat to our national security. Additionally, a continuing inflow of cheap labor suppresses the wages of both hardworking U.S. citizens and legal residents.

Please do the right thing and fight for the rule of law and the jobs and incomes of American working people. Support HR 4437 without any "guest worker" or amnesty provisions added.

Thank you for your time.

Dear Congressman:

I have no representation. The system is a farce.

Instead of wasting my time on a futile effort to "fix" the system, I have decided to invest the fruits of my labor into acquiring a copious supply of guns and ammo. Unlike Congress, these items offer me true security.

If my letter makes you nervous, then... good. Liberty can only be realized when Congress lives in fear of the People.

Sincerely,

Molon Labe

Jammer6, no, no, no, let me write what you really mean:

Dear Senator Murray:

I'm writing to voice my support for open borders.

Our president is headed in the right direction, but he hasn't gone far enough.

We get stronger laws every time a terrorist crosses the border.

It needs to be easier to pass laws that violate the Constitution, and we need to encourage those who wish to kill us to do so.

Thank you for your efforts.

Sincerely, me.

No need to thank me.

Dear Congressman:

If the plan is to ban all guns, please do it sooner rather than later. I'm not getting any younger, and would rather the battle start now, while I'm still young and able to fight.

Sincerely,

Molon Labe

Dear Congressman:

We need a wall. Around the District of Columbia. To protect us from you.

We need deportation now. It shouldn't be too much trouble. There aren't that many of you.

We need a guest worker program. A few of you should be given a second chance. I'll fax you a list later.

Remember, family values don't stop at the Rio Grande and intelligence doesn't stop at the Potomac.

Best regards,

~Longeyes
