Powder availabilty.

I'm starting to find quantities of the powders I use. Just picked up a good amount of IMR 4227 and H110. I was on my last can of 4227, purchased during
Slick Willies reign of terror. Still having problems with Alliants Unique but found
the H110 and loaded up.
I'm looking for IMR8208 for my 223/5.56 and 308/7.62 shooting and was wondering, after reading up on it, if it might not be a go to propellant for Ammo manufacturers. Nobody has seen it anywhere. Any thoughts?

I just picked up 2 lbs of 8208 and 1 lb of H335 at my lgs yesterday he has an 8# jug of win 748 but I don't know if I want to pay 245 bucks for it! They also had a fair amount of pistol powders also but still cannot get small pistol primers.

Sure would like to find some AA 1680 and Alliant 2400 one of these days. I have less than a pound of 1680 and no 2400. Oh well, it will shake loose eventually. At least I have other stuff to use.

Pretty sure ive seen 2400 at my LGS. I'll check it out next time Im in. I dont use it so havent paid a whole lot of attention but for some reason it rings a bell. Dont know how I could get it to you, but if you need it real bad we could come up with something I bet. (something legal-Ive left all my illegalness behind me)

Haven't seen 2400 or Unique anywhere. Got 4227 from Powder Valley and H110
from LGS.

They had some IMR sr 7625,sr4756 they also had Accurate NO's 2,5,7,9. and some Win 296. Really don't need primers just picked up 5K of wsp weekend before last at the gun show. they don't have pistol powders on the shelf too often when I go in Its usually bought all up the day it arrives. And as long as I have been going there they have never had sm pistol primers

that good news. I've seen various rifle powders here and there. sometimes in quantity and sometimes just a few. mainly powders for like 223, 308 and 30-06... i would love me some h110, aa2230 and aa1680... still have not seen much if anything in pistols. I know they are getting it, it just usually sells as fast as it arrives...

I got a couple of 8lb jugs of Unique last fall. Signed up for Email alert from Wideners in TN. I found that was about the only way to get a jump on a fresh supply. YMMV

It's a shame you aren't closer to me. I have an 8lb, 4lb, and a few 1lb of 2400. I am desperately dying for aa#2. That's the only powder I can't find and I use about 10lbs a year.

Talk about walking a mile. I would max out the 40 yard low-crawl from Basic Training in 1965 for some HP-38.

The low-crawl was my breaking point.

Out of 2400 here too, switch to AA#9 until I can get 2400 again.

I haven't seen W-231 or HP-38 in about a year and a half.
I bought some Unique last fall...haven't seen any since
Haven't seen H335 in about 5 months.

Bullets, primers and loaded ammo seems to have come out of the panic phase now...powder is lagging far behind.

Wideners has been having some stock lately. I picked up 10lbs of Power Pistol last week, I'm finally set for the rest of summer. Keep checking gunbot, you'll eventually find what you need.

I've seen plenty of Varget, Benchmark, 4064, 335, and 8208 around here, but pistol powder has been nowhere to be seen until yesterday. Yesterday I saw Bullseye and Power Pistol for the first time in a long time, sadly could only get a pound of each. No 231 or HP38 yet, but I'm hopeful that the pipeline will eventually open up again.

I have seen the Power Pistol too. Not sure I want another powder though. Still have some sealed 700x and Bullseye (recent purchase) that are in reserve.
