I have had some good luck with powder lately so if you are short keep looking around.

Just yesterday I was able to pick up 37 lbs of powder. A local distributer got in 8 lb Alliant powders so I was able to pick up 2 8 lb Unique and 1 8 lb of Bullseye. On the way home I was able to score another 8 lbs of 4756 and 5 lbs of Trailboss.

Once home, I had to spread it around to my local friends for storage (need to keep within fire code limits folks) but it is certainly out there if you want it.

By the way, 8 lbs is going for about $150 on average which I thought was reasonable since I did not have to pay hazmat or shipping.

I need to burn off my 1 lb cans since I have a bunch of other powders that are partial can's so tomorrow I will go on a campaign to load up partials and get rid of the small 1 lb cans.

My goal is to drop down to just a few powders and buy bigger jugs of them. The lot to lot variations of the 1 lb ones when I could find them was a pain on hot loads.

Now if I can just chase up 8 more lbs of 4756, 4227 and 2400 I would be pretty well set for another year or so. I am trying to stockpile 4756 since it is getting discontinued this year.

Bought an 8 lb. jug of Unique myself last week at a local shop. I use it in pistols and shotgun. Was down to my last 1 pound can so felt good to restock.

found 8lbs of 4064 at a local shop for 259, I am sure they still have it.

I have been buying it one pound at a time at my local Walmart for normal prices. I now have 5lbs stored up. I buy a pound every time they get a shipment. I don't want to be too greedy.

I have W231, AutoComp, and Unique for a total of 200Lbs. No not really. Some what substantially less. I simply refuse to pay the hyper inflated prices and don't hold in high esteem the sellers and those that buy from them. If the current component and ammunition prices are the new normal I'll find something else to occupy my time.

Magnum,

I used to do exactly that. Refill a 1 lb from the 8 lb but then I bought a big funnel. Works great and now I am just using up the 1 lbs and tossing them in recycling.

I figure I have enough powder to get through 2014 if I had to. I will continue to stock up as 8 lbs are available but no more 1 lb for me. Too much of a hassle.

Looks like you did well today. Powder and large pistol primers are the hardest to find in my area at a decent price.

Let me know if you need any help "storing" Varget. Can't guarantee it will all be there when you need it, but I offer any assistance to help keep you safe from yourself. LOL.

If you look over on gunbroker, there's 30 min left to bid on 8 lbs. of Titegroup. Current bid is $375

Update! Update!...winning bid was $407.

Not I.

I won't use titegroup. It leaves a nasty stain on my nice blued revolvers. Very hard to get off! I won't argue with performance but ish that stuff is nasty.

I have varget somewhere. I would have to look at who has it. One nice thing about living in the "corporate ghetto" is that a lot of friends from the office live in the same subdivision. Most don't reload or shoot but are willing to put up with my requests as a favor.
