A PPC revolver followed me home. I don't shoot PPC, and I don't even know if there's a league around here. But I've always wanted one, it's a Power Custom (!!!!!!!), and I got it for a reasonable price.

I'll post pictures when I figure out the *&$#@! system here (gave up after 7 tries).

Big question is: did/do guys with PPC guns built on .357 revolvers shoot .38 Specials or .357s loaded down to .38 Sp. velocities? (This one is on a Smith 19-3 with recessed chambers.) I have a lifetime-supply of Speer, Hornady and Star HBWCs, an 8-lb jug of Bullseye, tons of .38 and .357 brass, and my Dillon already has a toolhead set up for .38 Sp (for bullseye) ...

Thanks in advance,

38 loads in 38 brass. No question about it. 2.7 of bullseye is the old bullseye/ppc standard load for the 148hbwc.

I always shot .38 wadcutters in my .357 Python, except for the Distinguished Match, which required semi-wadcutters... still .38 Special.

Of course since you have "tons of .38 and .357 brass", there is no reason you should not find out which is more accurate. Shoot the gun. It might pay you to load in magnum brass for the 50 yard line, but you will never know unless you try it. Powder charge in magnum brass should probably be a bit heavier.

Well, I guess I have to put some test time in at the range.

I'll load up .38s and .357s and post the results. Actually, first, I need to mount a Weaver rail to the Bomar rib. Luckily it's scratched, so I have no compunction about drilling and tapping it.

Stay tuned.
