That one is an odd duck, and that’s why I am buying it. First year of production, 4 digit serial number. Seller swears that’s how it left the Ruger factory. I wish it was chambered in something other than 22-250, but I still wasn’t letting it get away.
Does it say Victoria or whatever they were called on the gun, I don't know how many there were before ruger started calling it the no1.

That 22-250 caught my eye too. The wood on the butt stock looks awesome on it as well.
marksman13, How many no.1's will be in your collection after these?
I always enjoy your No.1 threads.
I only have one in 45-70.

I’ve sold a few here and there, so these six will put me at a total of twelve. I’ll start a new post with better photos once I get them in my hands tomorrow.

I still wonder where the 1b is that's chambered in 300 H&H... Not the African series..

That's my holy grail rifle.

That's a beautiful representation of rifles.

Just a note on the original topic. Got a price on all five of the Pre-64 M70s today. There’s a 257 Roberts, a 264 Win Mag, a 300 H&H and a pair of 270 Wins. He’s asking $5500 for the five rifles. I originally believed he was asking $6500. I can’t buy them at the moment, but I‘d be happy to hook up a fellow THR member with info if interested. I’ll tell you up front that photos just aren’t going to be really feasible, as I‘ll likely never put my hands on these rifles.

EADADF27-4CB5-4395-A648-0F547F9A2CB1.jpeg I asked for a photo and got this one. I trust this guy 100% in regards to Ruger No. 1s because of multiple past dealings, but I know nothing about M70s and this is the only photo he took while he was picking up the No. 1s. Not even sure what guns are pictured here or which one is missing.
