Pre 64's UNBELEIVABLE

Got a call from a buddy this morning. A friend of his just bought a .264 mag Super Grade M70 and a 30-06 featherweight, he gave me the serial #'s and wanted me to see if they were pre '64's. So I check and sure enough, they are. I ask how much his buddy paid, didn't know. Well, he just called me back and found out he paid $300.00 for both!!!

.264 mag is my dream caliber, and talk about a dream gun. He got them from an old man who was never into gunsand didn't meet me first.

Wow, I wasn't doubting your accuracy or judgment. I was being sarcastic, as in "they must be stolen"
Because that is the deal of the century if they are in any kind of shape at all.
The 264 is probably $1,000.0 to $1,200.00 and the feather weight 30-06 at least 8-900.
Your numbers and dates are fine. 1956 and 1961 is what I come up with.

the 264 is the ULTIMATE, in my opinion. for long range, the 264 is meant to beat the 7mag, and it does... a 6.5 mm bullet 120 or 140 grains, doing superman type speeds.

I've got a pre-64 Super Grade in .264... I've also got one in 30/06 and another is 7x57 Mauser. Love "The Rifleman's Rifle"

win71, I didn't take it as a slight, I posted them b/c I could have been wrong and wanted confirmation. I agree, the .264 is, in my opinion, the baddest mutha ever devised for big game. Sure wish someone still chambered it. It would never work for the general public though, you can't just go out and blast through a box of ammo in quick succsession every time you go shooting. Thak hot round is going to burn your barrel right out. Shoot once or twice, wait 5-10 minutes, repeat. Barrel should last a long time. too many people think a rifle is a rifle is a rifle. When one doesn'perform the way they want they blame the gun, soon you have a gun with a bad rep. Oh well, guess I can quit whining and go get one built.
