To compete with the well-reviewed Taurus and Walther .22 offerings that are going to be compared against it, Glock better drop the price some or they won’t sell to anyone not totally ga-ga over everything Glock.

I’d like one to shoot alongside my Glock 9mms... but not for more than $265.00-ish.

Stay safe.

I had the p22. Functioned fine but a Glock will be a better built weapon and worthy of a few extra bucks. Caveat, not a big Glock fan either but zinc construction on that Walther? Pssshh, junk.

Should've bought the Walther PPQ .22 worlds different on quality than the P22. The P22 imho is junk.

This Glock will have a hard time replacing my PPQ 22, it has been flawless other than the random dud round which has been very few. It runs well suppressed and unsupressed.

Woman wanted the p22. Then she didn't. So, goodbye. And your honest opinion about the p22 isn't an opinion, it's fact. It's junk and is guaranteed to fail much sooner than a quality weapon would.

Then again I suspect the G44's biggest competitor will be the Ruger SR22 which discounts for $360 or so...

There’s lots of .22 auto competition for the new Glock: the Ruger Mk IV, Buckmark, Victory, Walter PPQ, Taurus, the zinc copies, even the conversion kits for 1911’s, etc.

It’ll surely sell, especially to those who love them or have one in a centerfire and want a practice rimfire, but if it’s too pricy the sales will suffer when Joe Average who isn’t brand loyal is in the market and can get a quality gun for much less.

In any event, I’d like one if it’s not too pricy. (With 8 .22 LR handguns and 2 .22 WMR handguns it’s not like I need another one.)

Stay safe. :)

Give it some time and you will find that the price will come down as the market gets more saturated. You may even find one on the used market for less than $300. It will be a good seller, I am confident of that.

Couldn't agree more about the Walther P22! A truly abysmal handgun incapable of getting through more than one magazine without some sort of problem. And when we did get it to work it then had to be cleaned every 50 rounds or so just to keep it running...sort of!

LGS is going to be selling the Glock 44 for $379. IMO mid $300 price range is good for Glock 44 right along with entry Ruger Mark series and Buchmarks.. Glock is premium brand and I expect demand will be high for quite a while. Walther P22 and Taurus TX22 are not in the same ballpark.

Yep it will sell, however Glock dropped the ball big time...a G19 sized gun (read grip frame) and they only put 10 rounds in it...WTH were they thinking

I’ll probably get one.

I kinda feel like they could’ve jammed a few more rds into the mag (TX22 did it), but I’ve been thinking about getting another .22 pistol and this would make a good trainer since I shoot G19’s and a G23 so much.

Probably won’t get one of the first ones off the conveyor belt though.

They were thinking reliability. They did extensive testing developing the Glock 44 and found that that single stack magazine was the most reliable.
They were thinking they want to sell in mag restricted states. Reliability??? The Keltec has 33 rounds...

I always used cci mini mags and never had an issue tbh. Which was great cause the guy with the tactical forehead I traded it to loves it to this day. I just had no faith in the zinc slide holding up. If Volkswagen made a gun it'd be a Walther p22.

Ditto for me on the Walther P22. Between that and the god awful Sig Mosquito, I've pretty much sworn off service-style 22 pistols for good.

The P22 definitely required higher velocity ammo as it was pretty sluggish operating with standard velocity stuff. But it didn't matter what ammo you used in it as it seemed to get so dirty and fouled up that it would just about stop running altogether unless you cleaned it.

I'm seriously considering one of these:

https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/cPath/2084_21_55/products_id/84708/Firearms/Handguns/Walther+Arms/Walther+Arms+Colt+5170304+1911+Government+Tribute+.22+LR++5+12+1+Poly+Grips

Cheap enough that it's tempting but I'm really not a 1911 guy. Might just save that money and apply it to the G44. Makes more sense to complement my other Glocks for consistency and training purposes.

I'd be willing to bet that "made by Walther" actually means made by Umarex (for Walther, for Colt).

Yes, reliability as stated in some of the videos and interviews that are going around. The Kel-Tec you are referring to is in no real way comparable to the Glock. Unless you consider that giant abomination to be a compact carry style gun. The Glock would be directly comparable to Kel-Tecs new little .22 that holds 16 rounds and is so reliable it should be considered a single shot pistol with a 16 round magazine.

Yeah, like Glock would want to use technology for their Glock 44 from this POS.

Yeah I'd MUCH rather take 10 rds capacity than 16 rds of failure to feeds
I would not make a bet all Keltecs are like the one in the video. I have learned a long time ago to try a gun out for myself rather than so much of the crap on the internet and Youtubers. The Glock has not even hit the streets and yet so many are bellyaching about the price and the round count. Do you really actually think the Pre-order price is the same price 6 months from Now? Or that all the vendors of magazines in the world will or cannot actually get a larger round magazine down the road, and not to say Glock already has them? Or that for now they are using a 10 rounder for sure success of reliability? And later introduce larger magazines. For myself, 10 rds is fine. The high round count is now the Internet latest fad. I get it.
And I will bet the Glock will be a great 22.cal. (And by the way, I am NOT a Glock Fan, do not own one, but nothing against them either)
Man, I love the internet.

I agree, I think later down the road we'll see a bigger magazine released. But for right now it's for their reputation that they are sticking for 10 rounds.
I know not all Kel-tecs or Tauras' sucks, but still they do not have a reputation for reliability. It's the reputation that sells above most other things.
