Price check for a single stack 9mm (and WHICH ONE?)

I'm not qualified to enter the Kahr/Sig debate and won't even try, but I do have a couple of comments on the original question:

One- Your decision to classify your keltecs to bug/backup status was correct....the only time your keltec should be primary is when there is occasion that you for whatever reason are not able to carry a CCW with a more potent round. If it is all you can carry ( and I sometimes can only carry my P3at hard chrome barrel version for various reasons) then it is by all means better than no fire power for self defense.

Second- I carry a Sig P239 9mm IWB stoked with Speer 124 gr +P jhp's and find this gun to be an exceptional CCW,accurate and unfailingly reliable. It is certainly not a pocket gun it weighs 25.2 oz unloaded, but is only 1.2" thick and conceals well in an IWB holster. I have recently purchased a S&W 1911SC but have not fired it yet, it may replace the Sig on some or many occasions but the P239 is a weapon that I at this time have no plans of ever selling. For me it was an excellent choice for a CCW...

Good luck with your decision

I own 2 kahr's. Purchased both for CCW. First I purchased the P9, black DLC slide and sent over a 1000 rds down range with this one. Not one flaw with this gun. Its one very accurate gun for its size, and one excellent DAO trigger.

I liked it so much, I decided to purchase another and went with the PM9 so I could pocket carry if needed. After the 200 rd plus break in, this one is also flawless.

TO ME, these two guns are perfect for ccw, light, thin, accurate, and very easy to clean, and conceal. I think you would be more than happy with a Kahr.

I two have owned and shot sigs (226, 220), H&K P7, just to name a couple.
I loved the P7 for ccw, I just felt the extra weight would make me leave it at home where it would do me no good. The only two pistolas I have now are Kahrs.

The Taurus PT-111 and PT-140 are not single stack, but they are still good carry guns...I would recommend a stainless slide...or the newer titainium slide models...

The stainless slide and plastic receiver are very sweat resistant...very good for hot weather...

Taurus has also started to release post ban high capacity versions of its pistols....

I haven't hefted it yet, but THIS looks like quite a good 9mm carry gun...the PT-111 Pro in Titanium...the Ti slide should make carry weight very low. Don't know what percieved recoil would be, though...

I have seen a lot of reliability problems with Taurus Automatics expecially the 908. Sorry but I can't recommened that someone carry a taurus for serious uses.

Thanks again for the input guys & gals.

Forseti-- FWIW, when I woke up from sheepleness, the first gun that REALLY caught my eye was a Taurus PT-111. Admittedly, this was 4-5 years ago when they first came out (and they may have made improvements since then), but I went and fondled one, read like a madman on this and other forums, and found that the Kel-Tec P-11 is roughly twice the gun that the Taurus is, for less money. On top of that, the KT is imminently "personalizable" with respect to feel, trigger pull, and so on.

I DO think that Taurus makes a very good moderately priced revo, and their 92 series and a few of their other s/a's are great guns. But, I'm specifically looking for a pocket gun in 9mm and ordered a Kahr MK9093BX today (for $389 out the door, btw).

I've yet to change my opinion about Kahr's, (which is overpriced and only so-so), but that's an opinion formed by anecdotal evidence only, so I may get nicely surprised once it arrives.

Next purchase, I'm thinking a Sig 220 for the quick-safe at home, coupled with a CTC lasergrip. The 5 rounds of my SP101 are just not enough for a 3am home invasion. Sorry for chasing that rabbit.

Regards,
Felo Mon
