Is $350 too much for a Model 13, 3" bbl, round butt, in sound mechanical condition, and minor use/hoslter wear (muzzle, and drag line on cylinder)?

Inquiring minds wanna know.

Thanks,
Mike

If I could get it down around $300, I'd be a lot happier, but balanced against that is "How badly do you want the gun?" and "How often do you see 3" HB RB 13's for sale?"

If you're not just dying to own it right now, sooner or later you may turn one up in the $275-$300 range.

Me, though? I'm all about the 'instant gratification' thing; if it wouldn't result in Ramen Pride and frozen burritos for the rest of the month, I'd snatch it. :D

Yeah, same thought here. Time is money, and the more time I spend lookin'...

Thanks,
Mike

I got my 13-4 for $300 a P&R 13-2 for $375 would be good. Still on the high side but you are not seeing many 13's around.

Some Folks would not recommend the P&R for carry because the rims might fall under the extractor star and hang up the gun, but I would love to have a nice 13-1 or -2 just for the better fit and finish...

Mike, buy it.

That is one gun that does not come up all that often, they don't make them anymore, and the price is only $30-50 too much. A year from now the $50 is change forgotten. 3" 13-2 RB is THE ultimate carry revolver.

I don't know if "the book" would say that is a little overpriced, and I don't know prices around you. Based on prices around here that would be fine. Even if it is a tad overpriced, I doubt that would be more than a "tad" overpriced anywhere and as said before, that is a fairly rare find.

I love my 3" S&W 65LS. I really want a 3" S&W 13. I've been looking (not exclusively but I've had my eye out) for one for about 2 years now. I'm actually considering buying a 4" S&W 13 a local low volume dealer has had for about a year now (similar condition and price to what you have described) and having it cut down to 3" if I don't find one fairly soon (assuming the 4" is still around).

If you want a 3" K-frame (and if you don't have one you should) then I guess it depends on how much you want it. If it was me, and there was any way for me to drum up $350 I'd put it down with no regrets whatsoever. In fact, I'd actually consider selling or trading one of my more common guns if that was what it would take for me to get it now even if I had to lose significant money when I replaced my trade.

Tamara - Umm... what's wrong with Ramen Pride and frozen burritos? When in college, that's what I got when I had money. Otherwise, it was tomato soup, Bisquick and MRE detritus.

I gave $275 for my M13 and it, like most S&W revolvers, is a jewel. Regards, Richard :D

Trapper, I was an NCO before I could afford the luxury of frozen burritos to compliment my Ramen noodles. I know what you mean.

I missed out on a 13 by 10 minutes in Tucson last summer, but happily found one in Prescott Valley AZ a week later and grabbrd it. They were both going for $289. A great price I think, as you don't see too many around. I feel i got lucky.
