Price Check - Savage 10FP in .223 ----$440??

Saw on the clearance rack @ (yeah right---I aint saying )
Savage 10FP / 24-in Barrel/ .223 - Brand New/Syn stock.

BTW - the bug struck me in the last few weeks - "I WANT a rifle - was considering 223 or 308 and looking at either the 10FP or one of the Savage LE lines........"

So amongst you experts - is $440 out the door a good price??

Very good price indeed, I recently saw the exact same rifle your talking about at Dicks Sporting Goods for $460 but it included a Burris or Bushnell 12-24X50 scope. Seems like a hell of deal since the optics mounted probably cost about $150-200.

I just purchased a Savage 12FLV in 22-250 on the internet for $435 + $15 for shipping. The FFL fee is $15 so that makes the total purchase $465.

The local gunshop wouldnt sell it to me for less than $535 so I made out on this deal.

It's a good price.....I paid $459 for .223 last summer and $519 for my .308 last week. Be prepared to spend that much again dressing it up. I know there are better deals out there, but I like to support my local shop. I think it's worth paying a few extra bucks to shop in a place "where everybody knows your name."

BTW, its your fault that I ordered the 22-250. After shooting that sweet .223 of yours, I had to have a long range varminter myself.

I found the same model but in .308 here locally and I think I am gonna get it...... $450. Anyone have this rifle? And I've heard all good things so far. Any other thoughts? I did want to get 30-06 but i can only find that in the 111 hunter model and I like that the 10 fp model has the heavy barrel and the fact that it is free floating.
