Was at the local. Bass pro shop to buy some brass and primers. Box of 1000 Winchester large pistol 49$. Is this the new standard or are they dreaming? What is everybody else paying for LP primers?

Which MO Bass Pro is that? Cabela's in KC hasn't raised their primer prices at all. Still sitting right at $35-37/1000 plus tax. High sales tax in that area takes it to about $41.50/k after tax for CCI. Bass Pro in Olathe KS was $1-2 higher the last time I went in there, around November.

This was Springfield area. Winchesters were 49 before tax. They were out of CCI but did say that they were 39$ before tax. After turning them down I did find a box of Federals LP for 38$ at another LGS. It just took me a second to pick my jaw up off the floor when the price came up at Bass Pro.
Two weeks ago I paid 32$ per 1000 of CCI SP. So I got a little sticker shock over the Wins.

Don't ever forget those who gouged and took advantage when supply's were short. I saw an individual on Craigslist that was asking 15.00 per hundred...FIRM for SP primers. (See below)

I don't know about anyone else, but in 20+ years of reloading I've never been asked to show my FOID card when buying reloading supplies.
Firearms and loaded ammo = yes.
Brass, primers, powders, and bullets = never.

Addendum
Here's the link to the actual statute:
http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilc...ctName=Firearm+Owners+Identification+Card+Act.
Nowhere in it does the word "primer" or "component" appear.
That guy, in addition to being a gouging a--hole, is a moron.

I was at Cabela's in Maine yesterday and was shocked at what I saw. They only had a small amount of small and large pistol for 6.99/100 with a limit of 200. Seriously, I was disappointed.

My preferred local reloading supplies store has had primers in stock every week I have been going since July. Not that cheap but not outrageous. 3.89 per hundred. 500 limit.
Yesterday they had all kinds of powders too. Tightgroup, 231, Clays and others. Got some Clays and was then deciding to get 231 instead and was giving the Clays back as I said it wasn't really cool to take two pounds of powder. Guy said, "actually, you can have both and even another one, we've got stock and it isn't' disappearing the second it gets in now'.

Still just got the two poundsd s. Well, Ok, 1lb 14 oz. :)

Bass Pro is ridiculousness. Their prices are out of this world. Locally, at Scheels and gun shops right around 30 bucks depending on brands etc.

Everything at BP I've seen is crazy expensive. Not a huge fan of them personally.

I saw Winchester LR for sale at Bass Pro in Shreveport a couple months back for $59.99/1000, I drove a few miles over to Clark Custom Guns in Princeton and got CCI LR for $32.99/1000.
I no longer care how convenient they are, I've pretty much decided that Bass Pro no longer exists as far as my money is concerned.

I have been getting Winchester SPP for $33 per k. That's a little more than what I can see they used to go for but they are here and my guy has a boat load every time I go in.
