Check your local fire codes and your HOMEOWNERS insurance policy. Generally goes with national fire standards recommendations. 10,000 primers and 20 pounds of smokeless powder, over 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds total is to be stored in a WOOD cabinet or box with the wood being 1 inch thick and having a side made to open and release pressure. (a secured steel box is actually a BOMB). Do not store primers and powder together.
