Hey all whats everyones experience in buying primers in our current environment? I cant find small pistol primers lol.

We have all seen it before and will see it again. Eventually primers will return to the store shelves and till then there will be none. My advice is keep an eye on web retailers because when they get some they sell out in 30 min to an hour.

I found one shop with CCI app available , he had 6 cases(1000 primers per) , I bought them all , they were like 34 or 36 dollars a case.

My LGS gets a few in but as posted it can be spotty.
I got lucky the other day

It's going to be tight for a while as the supply chain tries to catch up. Keep an eye out locally and watch the Where are Reloading Components Available thread at the top of the page.

People like to reload 9mm , thats where all the spp are being used up.

I still believe that people are inherently lazy. The run on reloading equipment and components will end when the ammo gets back on the shelf in abundance. They, not all, will be selling the above for pennies on the dollar once this happens.

Reloading is not for everyone and I anticipate the sales. In the meantime I work on perfecting what I have learned on this site, reloading from my limited stock and going through all the motions with my pistol that don't involve reloading.

This will pass but history does have a way of repeating itself because we have very, short memories and if this doesn't pass there are always rocks and throwing knives.

It's hit or miss around here. Maybe not the preferred brand but I can usually find something - and I'll usually buy something. I have enough to get by but I try to keep up with what I shoot. If I don't need it today, I will later. Prices have remained about the same.

No pistol primers at all around here, here being about 40 miles south of St.Louis Mo. I thought I was low on large pistol then I remembered I already loaded them. Not out of large pistol primers just ready for the range.

No spp, lpp, or srp
There are only WLR primers.
Good thing I don't let my stock get low.

My local shop had these left. I'm not a hoarder & I still have a few K of them so I left them for the next guy. They are not the brand I use & don't want to retest all of my loads just to use those few primers.

Walked into the LGS for an archery target and left with 2lbs of varget and a brick of CCI SPP. Haven’t seen varget in awhile so I’m happy. I was going to buy more SPP if either federal or CCI but not at $5-100. They cut some bricks open and sell as sleeves. Then I went to Walmart and got 350rds of CCI standard 22lr to make up for the primers I didn’t get.

I woke up this morning, scrolled through Facebook and saw a post “SMALL PISTOL PRIMERS BACK IN STOCK!!!!!!!!!”
Thought they were probably sold out by now. Called, grabbed my wife and granddaughter and lit out.

Would you believe...no limit...and...they gave me a veteran’s discount without me asking.

Haven't seen the TulAmmo primers in awhile and most retailers indicate they are discontinued. I had really good luck with them and may have a couple boxes still left.

Really? Cleaned the shelf of every brick of primers?

They were there for the buying and I don't have a closet full like some others. I didn't see a problem with buying them , and I don't believe anyone else should have a problem with me buying them , the owner surely didn't mind me buying them.
