Are there any good private outdoor ranges in Phoenix?

I did some searching and turned up the Phoenix Rod&Gun club, but even it is open to the public on weekends.

I've come to prefer members only ranges. Everyone is a gun enthusiast, NRA member, and typically more safety concious, friendly and helpful compared to what one might find at a public range. At least that's been my experience in San Diego. I still go to public ranges on occasion, but vastly prefer a private range.

Thx,
Joe

PS
I just got a job offer from a company in Scottsdale, hence investigating important stuff like shooting ranges before making a decision. :D

I may move San Diego in a couple of years. I went to college there so I know the area well. What ranges are there besides the one next to the police station by Friars Road. I will really hate not having a CCW there, but you cant have everything.

Good list here:

In addition to practically "no-issue" CCW in San Diego county, don't forget:

a) AW rifle ban
b) many models of handguns unavailable due to "safety test" extortion scheme - manufacturers must pay an annual fee for every gun model and variation they want to sell.
c) 10 day waiting period for all gun purchases
d) 1 handgun per month limit
e) all private sales must go thru an FFL
f) .50 cal rifle ban
g) 10 round mag limit
h) C&R FFL limited to mail ordering rifles only
i) No loaded guns in cars. Handguns must be locked in trunk or case for transport.

Probably forgot a few...

And probably worst of all, gun rights are in serious jeopardy any time the legislature is in session (which is most of the time), so you never know what the future holds w.r.t. to gun laws.

Joe, You may wish to have a look at Ben Avery range even though it's public. The safety officers there do a great job at maintaining a safe and sane atmosphere.
