I have a Ruger super blackhawk that the rear sight roll pin holes are misaligned, the roll pin can go through the frame and hold the rear sight on but it makes the rear sight crocked as my front teeth. Also the gun shoots about 6 inches high at 25 yards with 240 grain .44 mag with the rear sight all the way maxed out to the bottom.

I called ruger and all the guy said is to send it in, he couldnt tell me if they could fix my problems but they would try.

So im wondering what you guys think- can they remidy these problems? any experince with ruger's repairs?

I've seen posts saying very good things about Ruger's customer service. I would definately send it back. They will most likely be able to fix it.

Send it back. If they cannot fix, they will replace it. Had a Redhawk with the same problem, sent it back and they replace it.

GEEZ, send it back, what do you have to loose? You're not happy now, if they can fix it will you be happy? If they can't fix it will it fix itself? Will you be happier if you don't address it? Let me guess: Nothing, Yes, No, No. Did I guess right? GEEZ send it in!

The only Ruger I would not be willing to send back to them if I had a problem would be a three screw without the retrofit transfer bar. Because if they got ahold of it they would do the retrofit even if specifically asked not to.
Other than that Ruger's customer service is second to none.

All you have to do with an Old Model is remove the parts they will replace before you send it to them. If that, and not the stamp or anything else affecting collector value, is the only deciding factor.

I would say send it back to them for repair. Friend of mine bought a used old model Vaquero in .44 Mag that the barrel was improperly installed in. Nothing wrong with the front sight but you could see that the barrel had not been torqued all the way over. Ruger agreed but didn't have any spare barrels because that frame size was no longer being used in current model Vaqueros. So they made him a completely new barrel, fitted it to the frame, then polished the whole gun (stainless), so everything matched. They did a terrific job, free of charge, on what was a used gun.

I bought a used Vaquero .45 back in 01. It tended to lock up - didn't know why. My dealer sent it back to Ruger and they repaired it and had it back to me in less than two weeks. I had another one that I bought new. After a lot of shooting - - - and I mean a LOT of shooting an cleaning; the color case hardening began to look like crap. The cylinder was loose, the hammer wobbly - - - so I sent it back to Ruger for a makeover. But they only charged me for the color case hardening. And when I got it back it looked and worked like a new revolver. They had aligned and replaced stuff - - - went way beyond what I expected. That's the best, bar none. That's one of the reasons I would buy a Ruger over just about any other brand.
