Anyone use Bullseye in a RCBS Uniflow with micrometer? I normally use A#5 for my 45acp loads but had a pound of Bullseye on hand and decided to try it. The A#5 meters better for me. The Bullseye was anywhere from 0.05-0.15 difference in each load.

I have a Redding model 3 with a micro pistol meter that meters Bullseye very accurately down to 2.5 gr, the Accurate powders I have tried may throw a bit better.
Could be a static problem ? Your variation seems a bit more than acceptable, have you clean your powder throw ? What is the ID diameter of your micro pistol meter, mine is .32" ?

If that isn't acceptable you need to quit using a measure. We are talking about gn? Right?

I'm with jibjab and kingmt. What sort of precision were you expecting with a powder throw?

I meter a lot of Bullseye with a Hornady LNL, and I get less than .1gr deviation for 9 of 10 throws. That's close enough for any load I'll ever do.

Check for oil, check for static. Bullseye meters quite well in general. Much better than many handgun powders.

I guess I expected with the micrometer it would be exact. I understand it isn't the end of the world to be .15gr off.

I use BE for all my pistol loads and it is close enough. 4.3gns for a 180gn lead .40S&W. My Dillon will barely if at all deviate, maybe .1 and being that I'm under the max load by a bit I'm fine with that. For .45ACP I've gone up to 5.3gns behind a 200gn lead blob, my FNP 45 liked that quite well. For the 1911s I have to tone it down a bit tho.

I have a load that is 1.2gn over max with Bullseye & I still don't weigh everyone.

The micrometer makes no difference in how the measure meters. It is simply a way to dial back to a setting and get the charge set up faster next time.

Are you using the pistol insert, or the rifle insert?

It appears to me that you are getting very good accuracy with your powder measure. The only way to be exact every time is to hand weigh each round using a powder trickler.

I have been loading Bullseye (my primary powder) through my UNIFLOW for over 10yrs, it meters as well as any powder I have tryed. Always within 1/10th of a grain measured on my 502 (that is as close as it weighs) . If you are getting different charge weights by more than that, you have oil, dirt or something causeing it. Anyway, in an answer, yea, BULLSEYE meters great.
