I have wanted a 10mm for awhile now. When I went to the gun show and saw an EAA Witness 10mm for $300, I could not resist.

Now, the problem I am having is for some reason, on just about every 8th or 9th round from a 10 round magazine, the gun jams. The round is not fired yet, it just jams in the slide.

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how was it fixed? If not, can you give me some suggestions?

That is definitely a magazine problem. My suggestion would be to order a couple of 15 round new factory mags online. If you want to keep using the one you have, Take it apart, clean it, examine it, maybe retension the spring (just stretch it a couple inches). Also, make sure the ammunition is not too long. 10mm is a long round anyway, so you may run into problem with bullets seated out to maximum length. I have to keep mine ~0.10" under listed max length in my Kimber or they won't feed right (I added a red shock buff, which shortens slide travel about 1/8"; just enough to cause this problem). The Witness 10mm is a great gun (I have a compact), but sometimes have magazine issues.

I got a new 15 rd mag from Reed1911.

I took the Witness to the range and fired off 100 rounds. No problems, no jams, no misfires. It fired perfectly from single shots to unloading as fast as possible.

Now, if it will do that the next few times, I have a new CCW.

I love my 10mm.

Glad to hear Ron took care of you. I bought a 10mm Witness from him a while back and found him a great fellow to do business with. Those 10 round did not help the reputation of the 10mm Witness for reliability. Using 15 rounders the only issue I ever had was the need for a feed ramp polish on some pistols. Not a bad idea anyway just to ensure feeding for all bullet profiles.
