Problems with M4's

If not, it looks like we should scrap that platform for one that would fire a lot of ammo.....quickly.

well, thats the thing. Pretty much any gun out there is not going to last long if you throw fifteen mags of ammo through it in fifteen minutes.

Do it to an AK and you're handguards will burst into flames or melt; do it to an AR and it dries out and jams; do it to a Sig or HK, etc. and you'll probably have a combination of the two.

let me know which gun can shoot 12 magazines in a row without having problems..

You're kidding, right? I have done it each time we have rifle training. We don't clean until the end of the day, and we fire waaay more than 12 magazines. The last time was the least intensive COF, and we fired at least 15.

Weapon? M16A1. Malfunctions? 0 (except deliberately induced ones). Now, those 15 mags were not full auto, back to back, but we got the gun plenty hot and bothered, with a reapplication of lube at lunch.

I'm not a huge AR/M16/M4 fan, either.

The only gun I have ever heard of going white hot was a .50. It also lost it's timing and the operator was lucky it did not blow up.
