I have a couple of newbie questions about progressive loading

I currently load on Lee turrets and a RCBS single stage, looking at the Six Pack and was thinking of setting it up for 3 or 4 calibers that I think would require 3 or 4 shell plates, (38spc, 40s&w, 45acp and 223). I have a couple of questions, Do I also need different bullet feeders for rifle and pistol bullets or do they work for either? How accurate is the Auto Drum? I currently use the Auto Disk and like it for pistol or 223 but nothing else. Does the case feeder work for auto pistol, revolver and 223 cases equally or would I need to purchase different case feeders? What else would I need to purchase to complete my "kit"? Currently I reload for multiple calibers and enjoy the ease of setting up and running with the Lee Turrets, How hard is it to change calibers with the Six Pack? Does the primer system still use the same folding primer tray that I'm using on my turrets that hold 100 primers? If so doesn't that slow down loading having to reload primers every 100rnds? Are they interchangeable with older primer systems where you could load up multiple primer trays and just load up multiple trays swap them out every 100rnds?

Thanks in advance, my wife and kids are asking about a Christmas list and I'm thinking this will make a good one.

looking at the Six Pack for ... 38spc, 40s&w, 45acp and 223
Good choice and instead of getting just the press, you may want to consider the Pro 6000 kit for extra $100 which comes with following additional items - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-press-finally-in-stock.912231/#post-12462859
  • Set of Breech lock dies (Dies and Breech lock bushings)
  • Breech lock die/bushing wrench
  • Shellplate
  • Universal case feed magazine
  • Autodrum powder measure

Does the case feeder work for auto pistol, revolver and 223 cases equally?
Universal case feeder that comes with Pro 6000 kit has riser that will work with taller rifle cases as well as pistol cases.

How accurate is the Auto Drum? I currently use the Auto Disk and like it for pistol or 223 but nothing else.
Pretty accurate.

I use C-H 502, Redding, Dillon, Lee Perfect, Pro Auto Disk powder measures and Pro Auto Disk with $1 mod meters small granules powders the best down to around .05-.1 gr variance - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/looking-to-start-reloading.871380/#post-11564160

What else would I need to purchase to complete my "kit"?
You also want to get case collator to easily fill the case feeder tubes - https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690667/case-feed-collator

How hard is it to change calibers with the Six Pack?
Easy. To change from 40S&W to 45ACP:
  • Remove dies with Breech lock bushings using bushing/die wrench
  • Remove index rod
  • Remove and install different shellplate using Allen wrench
  • Reinstall index rod
  • Install dies with Breech lock bushings using bushing/die wrench
  • Remove small primer guide by pushing it up through hole in primer slider channel with small Allen wrench and drop in large primer guide
  • Adjust powder measure

Does the primer system still use the same folding primer tray that I'm using on my turrets that hold 100 primers?
Yes

Are they interchangeable with older primer systems where you could load up multiple primer trays and just load up multiple trays swap them out every 100rnds?
Yes

Thanks in advance, my wife and kids are asking about a Christmas list and I'm thinking this will make a good one.
Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks for the quick response, I've done the mod to one of my Lee Auto Disk and it throws accurate as long as I operate the press the same each time. I have tried to get it to throw accurate using the double disk system but have given up and only load blasting ammo for the 223 with it. All my pistol rnds get loaded on the LCT but I keep an eye on the powder drop and bullet straightness. When I load rifle rnds I drop and weigh off press and use a funnel to fill the case.
I was thinking about getting a kit for 223 since I would be loading both blaster ammo for the grandkids and I would load the more accurate stuff on the turret, then just purchase plates for the pistol rnds and swap them over to the progressive
