Look lets just vote no need to reply just cast your vote and lets see wich wins please only write responce if your press isnt listed on the poll sorry I dont know them all but these seem to be most prevelant.
I own the Dillon 650 but after using it for a yr now I wish I had ponied up the extra cash and gone BIG! Having the primer pocket swage right on the press would certainly make life simpler when loading tens of thousands of military .223! I guess i will learn and go big eventually. One thing I can tell you is the dillons even after ten yrs of use will resell for within dollars of the current New price! Try that one with your christmas colors! BTW I used Lee for 13 yrs before I got my 650.
Sometimes the "Best" is beyond one's means. If I was to go out and buy what I considered the BEST I would probably come home with an Ammo Load or Camdex. (with all the support equipment too). Shouldn't set me back more than the price of a cheap new pickup truck.
Okay, I love both of my 550s, but how can I vote in this poll? I have no idea which one is best. The Dillon is very good and makes me quality ammo at a high rate of production. That's all I know. I won't own the other presses not because they are not as good, but because I am logistically committed to Dillons. Why would I go through tooling up to another system? How many people who look at this poll have used all of the presses and are therefore qualified to profer an opinion?
This poll is about as useful as saying Glock or XD which is best??? Maybe the XD is better, but with multiple guns, spare parts, 10 or more holsters, 30 mags, mag pouches etc. I am committed to Glock and won't ever take the financial burden to use an XD so I can say which one is best.
My Dillon Super 1050, while it took awhile to learn how to operate well, is the best progressive I've owned. I've owned Lee Loadmaster, and Hornady Projector presses, and operated the 3 station Lee press. I think the Super 1050 was well worth the money I spent on it. I only wish it didn't cost so much.
Hardly fair asking about Stars, since the only ones ever set up for rifle were in .223 Rem and .30 M1 Carbine (if you want to consider it a rifle round). They have a hard time competing in the "rifle" category part of the poll.
If you had just said "pistol" I would have voted for the Star, since I have two of them and they work just fine. But that's not how it's set up, so I did not vote.
I wasnt aware Star didnt really have a rifle press, I had only heard good things about there products and I just figured they had a similar press. Your right it doesnt fit in this poll.
Navy Joe,
Yes it true many people have not tried diff. presses but some of us have and some of have used friends equipment thats diff. from ours. Thanks for your input tho I hope you still voted.
FWIW I've used/owned & tried progressive presses of the red, green and blue market brand's. I lean more toward's Big Blue and the Green Giant brand's now though.

Not to break the rules listed by posting but it would be hard for someone to pick the best from that list unless they have used them all and formed an opinion.
From what I know I prefer Hornady.
