Do you own a progressive reloading press?

I have a Lee-pro 1000 but don't use it alot as I can't get the precise powder amount I want. Huntin for 6.8 to 6.9 grains of Unique. Would accept 7grs. So far its either 6.1 to 6.2 or 7.4 to 7.5. The lighter ones leave to much blow back on the brass and the warmer one are more recoil then desired for my shooting.

It's not surprising at all. Dillon may have a lot of internet bragging rights and it is a fine machine. But Hornady sells a lot more machines.

Yeah, the poll should really be "what progressive do you own." I own 5 on the list and have had others in the past, the LNL is worth it's low cost but it's not my "goto" machine.

Also, If I load 1000 rounds in 30 minutes with a 1050 and then turn around and spend an hour and change to crank out 500 on one of the SD's, I have used the SD more but got more use out of the 1050, what do you click on at that point.

In other words I "use" my single stages and turret presses a lot more (longer time frame) than my progressives simply because they are so slow.

Thanks guys for the input!

A couple notes:
1. If you add up the 4 Dillon machines, you have 42% ownership - interesting
2. The lock-n-load and 550b are really two different animals (indexing and station count)

I am a bit surprised not to see more RCBS Pro-2000 owners.

Thanks,
Gavin

This is not really surprising to me. The hornady's are sold everywhere including Cabelas and Bass Pro. The Dillon's are only sold from Dillon.

if i were to spend the money i would get the RCBS Pro 2000... but at this point i don't shoot enough volume to justify it

Just bought a Pro2000 a few weeks ago. Great press and count me as one of those that realy likes the aps strips.

I guess I'm not surprised about the RCBS Pro-2000. It's a bit pricy compared to the others, so people probably figure they can get a good press for less. I love my Pro-2000 for many reasons, but the two most important are the quick caliber changeovers, and I feel more comfortable with the way primers are handled.

Because the powder measure stays in place, i just have to change the die plate out and change the primer seater when I change calibers. The five stations let me use an RCBS lock-out die in station 4 which gives me a sense of security.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks. Seems to be pretty much a draw between Hornady and Dillon.

Well that is if you add three Dillon presses to one Hornady model. If you were to count the Hornady and the 650 which is the only one comparable to it, then the Hornady is the clear leader in UR's poll. Then again the blue boys have to find a way to dominate any press conversation even if they have to stack three or four against one, but if it stops their whining...why not play along.

What I meant was...

According to this poll, and this poll only, there are about the same number of folks using Hornady and Dillon. No need to raise the defensive shields.

Still haven't taken the plunge on progressive myself. Kinda frustrating loading 9mm and .38 special on single stage presses, but ya do what you gotta do :).

I think the main thing right now is a space issue. I'm hoping to move into a new home within the next year or two and will hopefully have more space. At that time I'm going to look into getting a progressive setup.

These numbers are useful though - at least gives me a starting point to look at which press to buy.

I understood... just wanted to throw in a little  sarcasm. I also understand that these polls are only as accurate as the folks participating. :D
