I would like to know what progressive reloaders are used by this list members preparatory to conducting a survey of the numbers of them being used. I need the names of the reloaders in use for the options in the survey maximum 16 machines.

Star has the Progressive and Universal models
C-H has the Mark 3,4,5 and 5A Auto Champs
Phelps has a Star copy
CPM is a heavy duty version of the Star
Wemco-Williams is an automated Star
Dillon has 17 models? 550, 650, RL1000
RCBS Green Machine
Hornaday has?
Lee has Pro?

I use a Dillon 550 for centerfire and several MEC progressives for shotshells.

I use a Dillon SDB and two RL550B's for handgun calibers and a RCBS "Jr" and a Rockchucker for rifle calibers. I don't reload for shotguns yet.

I've had the RCBS machines since the early '60s.

For progressives, I have one each:

Dillon Square Deal B
Dillon RL-550B
Dillon XL-650

And a couple single-stage presses:

Hornady 007
RCBS Jr.2
Lee Hand-held

The RCBS progressive presses that you can purchase new right now are the Pro 2000 and the Piggyback adapters for the RockChucker.
I have a Pro 2000 and it's a great press. It's the only progressive press that handles primers well without having all kinds of problems getting the feed adjusted "just right" so that it will work. Primer feed issues are the number one failing of progressive presses - and the Pro 2000 just doesn't have any problems with primers.

Hi John Paul,
I have a Star Universal (that is the one that is .38/.357 only isn't it?)
Mec 650
Dillon 450B
Dillon 550

Bill The Star Progressive is 38/357
The Star Universal is for all pistol calibers plus .30M1 Carbine

I have four Lee Pro-1000s, one for .357/.38, one for 45acp, one for 44 and the other makes mostly small pistol stuff. I also have two Lee "O" presses and one Lee "C" press, one Lee handheld and a Lyman T-Mag II turret.

Star Progressive .38/357

Star Universal .44 Magnum

Star Universal .45 Colt

Phelps with Super Star kit and Rifle Star powder measure in .223

Rifle Star currently set up in .500 S&W using .460 Weatherby shellplate, for already-sized brass

Powers 8-station progressive in .50 BMG (one of two he built, similar in design and layout to a Star)

Dillon 1050 .45 ACP

JR

Two Lee Loadmasters, fully optioned, and a Lee Challenger "O" press for large rifle things.

C-H Mk IV Autochamp in .38 special
Dillon Super 1050 in .45 ACP
Dillon RL550B for anything else in progressive volume.
Used Dillon SDB before upgrading to 550 & 1050.

Also MEC 650 12 gauge and Rockchucker single stage.
