I have been very pleased with a Stag Arms AR15 I recently purchased.
It is my first rifle of this type.
I would like to know what people believe to be a “proper” grip for best trigger control etc.
I have small hands. I do not believe the finger notch of the pistol grip that came with the rifle is in an optimum location for me.
But this is based on my past handgun experiences.
I find myself jamming the web of my right hand up as high as I can under the lower receiver/buffer tube juncture, and then gripping.
Just like I would on any semi-auto pistol I have learned/trained with.
It seems like I have good trigger control this way.
But my index finger is not on the same plane as the trigger – it’s higher.
If I continue to use this high grip, I think I need to remove the finger notch of the original pistol grip or purchase a replacement.
What are your thoughts?
