Think I have decided finally on the upper...
Mid length for the gas system and to avoid the notch on the carbine profile barrel! It's a tossup between the two so I figure why not Go mid??

The heavy barrel for the improved durability and accuracy, Will it be any more durable or accurate? Any disadvatages other that weight??? Anyone have any idea how much more weight the heavy will add to the system???

I should probably order soon before they jack up the price again!! the upper with BCG and charging handle is currently $409.00 + shipping..

Thanks

A heavy barrel will not increase accuracy or durability. It will just be heavier.

the upper with BCG and charging handle is currently $409.00 + shipping.

This should probably be a warning to you to look else ware.

Nothing wrong with PSA. That's a good price. Just because the price is low, doesn't mean its junk. I have an rguns upper I paid $415 for and it has been 100% reliable.

As thinner barrels heat up they lose a bit of accuracy. I have seen this happen. I would prefer medium over heavy but a heavy barrel is just fine. You won't notice the extra weight for typical recreational shooting.

There is better out there, but PSA is good stuff for the money. I have lots of their parts and have been happy with all. Be warned sometimes PSA's shipping is very slow.

Search AR15.com. There are plenty of reviews of PSA.

I went with an RRA mid length chrome lined heavy barrel on my M4, the real up side to the mid length is the gas tube be'n longer than the standard M4, gives the bolt a tad longer dwell time when the action cycles.
