Stopped by the main local Shop and Range (Doug's Shoot'n'Sports), and found a used PT145, which they rent for use in the range. Shot an entire box, and loved it! Its got a pretty hefty recoil for a .45, but its probably the small size. Still, absolutely controllable.
My biggest beef is the mag release....it doesn't drop out, just releases. Good for combat reloads, I imagine, so I'll probably practice such.
The best part, its $100 less then brand new, and in tip-top shape. I went ahead and put it on layaway, and once my .38 sells I'll pay it off.
Needless to say, I'm stoked about the purchase and CCW upgrade!

Thanks for the report. I've just looked at one today and liked it, also was looking at the XD compact in .40, both feel good and i have a 1911 Gvt Mdl and am looking for a CCW gun.

Im glad you like your gun. Next time you want a screaming deal on ANY GUN in UTAH...go see Norm @ VanWagenens in Orem. He has the lowest prices around.........George Hill lived just around the corner from the store for along time. Im glad I live 50 miles away......Im broke enough.

Nice little compact 45 BTW...........shoot well.

I'm glad you liked it. I have enjoyed mine.

I have 3 mags, and 2 of the drop out and one works like you described.
