Unless they have discontinued it Browning offered a pump. Remington is the biggest maker and their pump rifles are very popular here. It may be a regional thing.

You must be from PA or at least the northeast.

Remington's older pumps were the model 76s and 760s. Their current pumps are the model 7600s. Not a bad gun. Nothing fancy, not too bad for accuracy, but damn, you can get a second shot off quicker'n snot out of a baby's nose. Way faster than a bolt gun and even faster than a levergun IMO. I have one in .270. Its killed a few deer.

One of the other nice features I like about it is the detatchable magazine. Its nice to have 4 more shots just a mag change away for those times when success is measured by the sheer volume of lead in the air. :D That, and being able to quickly unload and load the gun during a hunt, like when you get into a vehicle or climb over a fence, or shinny across a log.

My father in law has a .30-06 pump Remington. The current 7615 is pretty cool too.

DPMS makes a Panther AR pump.

This is one of the "older Remington's (1946 to be exact) They made a model 14 that was very similar, starting in about 1912, the model 141 (pictured) started in 1936

the 760 (the more modern incarnations came later) came about around 1952ish.
The 14 and 141 were chambered in Remington's own cartridges, 25, 30, 32, and my favorite, 35 Remington.
The 760 chambered the more modern stuff, up to 35 Whelen in the 7600.
The 7600 is still in production, and is a good gun.

Just bought a 7600 in .30-06 two weeks ago. It was made in 1984.

I took it out this weekend for the first time and was very impressed with it's accuracy and ease of handling. It was fun to shoot.

A couple of things I noticed. You need to be careful about sliding in the magazine, and be forceful when pumping the action.

Well i'm drawing a blank on this, but thinks a Remington.
In .223 that runs on AR mags!!!
A 30 round pump gun!! Something to think about!!!!

From 1970 to 1981, Savage marketed the Models 170 and 170c(a carbine version) pump-actioned rifles, chambered in 30-30 Win. (a few in 35 Rem). I still see them at gun shows and you should be able to get a nice one for under $200.00 or so. They did have tubular magazines which limits the ammunition selection to bullets with round noses or the new Hornady pointed, synthetic -tip styles.
