I don't get why so many are so bothered by front slide serrations...
1. Despite what some experts say, there is no need for them.

2. They drag on the holster, slowing down your draw, and wear the holster. Some tightly-blocked holsters won't work at all with front serrations until you soften them up.

True enough! Some serrations drag more than others. It depends on the profile. The serrations on my former Llama Mini Max would rip up any holster, and my hand. On the other hand, the ones on my SW1911 are rather sedate and aren't an issue. While I wish that they weren't there they don't really bother me. When I was considering buy a PT1911 I didn't see them as much of an issue. Still, I'm glad that my Sig doesn't have them.

As to traditional 1911 guys looking down on serrations, I'm sure that many of them are really bugged by the external extractor on my SW1911. You can't please all of the people all of the time.

That's how I feel about it. My carry gun is a Kimber Classic MKI. It has front serrations. I bought it because they didn't offer it without them.

But if I had had the choice, I'd have gone for a model without them. And with a lanyard loop.
