This may be a silly question but here goes. I live in WA and planning a trip to Portland, OR this weekend. Is it legal for me to purchase ammo in OR, being a WA state resident, and transport it back home? No sales tax in OR.:)
Thanks.

Not sure about the no sales tax in OR. There is no restriction regarding ammo purchases across state lines in Washington or Oregon.

NavyLT, Oregon does not have state sales tax.

However, they do have income tax, and are held accountable for all their profits, which makes the "no sales tax price" about the same as the "price with tax" in other states.

There are no Federal laws on ammunition purchases. Some states maintain that you must be a resident with a registration card to buy ammo there, but neither WA or OR are among them.

Actually, there are Federal laws regarding ammunition purchases, however, there are no Federal laws regarding state residency and ammo purchases.
