They are the same diameter as any bullets for .308, .30-06, 30-30 (basically the .30 cal family)
But my question is, are specialized bullets for .308 interchangeable with 300 BLK? Could the same boxes of ammo I buy for my .308s also be usable in .300 BLK.

Also are cast bullets for all those interchangeable? I know the deal with 30-30, being a lever action round but the pointed bullets can still work, just a loaders discretion type of thing where you don't load pointed bullets in a magazine tube. If you do, you just load one.

Yes, provided COAL (Cartridge OverAll Length) for feeding is respected.

No, ammo is not interchangable, but you're asking about bullets.

Yes, provided COAL and shape for feeding is respected; done flat nose bullets might feed poorly. Also, possibly sizing adaptations for lower velocity.

My .300BO is on a steady diet of cheap .308 150ish pulldowns from demil 7.62 and .30-06.

Some (Many) .308 bullets will have zero/almost zero expansion at 300 BLK velocities, but many are certainly workable as far as going bang.

Here is a fairly inexpensive one that shoots well and expands some. No pic for it.

I have shot the 150 Gr Core-Lokt soft points in 300 BLK, but they don't expand much.

These work well for plinking, Z-Max, SST, FSP, FMJ, the first three will expand pretty well and are suitable for some hunting.

There are lots of good bullet that work just fine at 300 BO velocities.

I am using:
Barnes 110 gr TAC-TX for good supers
Speer 125 gr TNT for cheap supers
Maker REX 220gr for good subs
Berry's Spire Pt 220gr for cheap subs

There are lots of guys running powder coated lead for even cheaper subs.

Another nice thing about 300 BLK is you can use H110 powder.

Reloading 300 BLK is more similar to loading a magnum pistol round versus your normal bottleneck rifle round. You can get away with using spray lube, the powders used for many loads are magnum pistol powders, the powder amounts are closer to pistol magnum reloads, and the smaller round makes it easier to reload on many presses. I can barely fit large .30-06 bullets on my Hornady Lock N Load and have to change out the powder drum to switch when switching over. Reloading 300 BLK has none of those issues. And the small rifle primers means I don't even have to change the primers setup over to the large tube.

Love loading for the blackout one thing I have found is round nose like 110gr 30 carbine dont feed so well. I got a ton of 308 bullets in trade that I plan to soon load 147gr pulled, 150grsp 168gr, 220gr but so far the best for me has been 125gr TNT but they out of stock everwhere.

I’m right in the midst of testing these out. I picked up 120gr PowerBond bullets from TJ Conevera, and 110gr FMJ RN Hornady bullets from MidSouth Shooters.
First tests I had a lot of feed issues, but I also loaded a bit soft. Non-cycling, and lack of ejection probably contributed to that. Redid my loads with a bump in powder, also, anecdotally, the MagPul 223/5.55 Gen 3 mags appeared to work, while the most problems were experienced with Lancer 300 black mags. Focused on loading the MagPul mags only, and had far fewer FTF. It was quite refreshing to get proper cycling with nearly half of my test loads. Slowly getting to a set of loads I like.
