It is Beeman now! They bought the Chinese factory or the Chinese company is making it for Beeman? I have the Chinese one, haven't played with it for a few years. CO2 is definitely more accurate, but pressure drop fast.

okay sure will I have also ordered a tin of 22c roundballs and have some crosman pointed field pellets and some daisy pointed pellets and just remembered some Benjamin discovery semiround nose hollow points. so should have enough to see what happens for a start!

Here's an article on the Beeman branding for the QB78:

Archer seems to specialize in the QB78s and offers a lot of parts and mods for them. I haven't dealt with them, but I've considered getting a QB78 from them. I might get one for myself for Christmas this year.

ETA: One service Archer, Pyramyd and other airgun specialty shops offer is testing of the guns before shipping. This might be a good idea, to avoid getting one with bad seals or other issues.

that's true I took the chance seein how midwayusa has them for $79 at the time and that was a buy! I was originaly gonna buy the Benjamin and Sheridan 2260mb at pyramid air for $199 I watched for a long time then they dropped it to $149 and was planning on buyin one until the other day I got an email about this beeman Qb78 model so after searching and doin my homework midwayusa had it for the mentioned price so I decided I would give it a try seein how it basically did the same thing! so I hope it turns out to be a good one! :)

Sounds like a great deal. Even if you do have an issue, it's likely to be something you can fix easily enough, given the simplicity of the design. Archer actually wrote the book on the QB78 (the manufacturer uses the manual he wrote in their plant), and has a good selection of parts.

here she is and i am very very pleased :)

i had also orderd a tin of 22c roundballs for airguns and it really likes them roundballs shoot tight groups! so next will be trying out some different pellets! :D also it is a very nice rifle very nice wood stock!!

okay field report the crosman pointed 14.3gr field pellets shoot super tight groups in which my ruger air magnum likes as well! :) the Benjamin discovery domed hollow point pellets didn't do bad not not as tight a group! the daisy pointed pellets shot close to the crosman but with a little wider group! so the crosman pointed field pellets win overall!! :)

Midland man do you have any wadcutters to try? How is the cocking effort? Is it so tight you have to slap it with your hand to get it to unlock?

I'm assuming you're thinking it's a break barrel? It's a CO2-powered bolt action. (If I assumed wrong, well . . . you know what they say. :D )

crawfish1 its very easy to open nope didn't have any wadcutters I sure need some to test tho! :) but I gotta say this is the best air rifle I have ever had it's a pleasure to shoot and super accurate with the crosman pointed field pellets at 14.3gr it really made ragged holes with this pellet! :) yep and its a co2 powered bolt action single-shot rifle.

You guys are right , I must have springers on the brain. Been playing with the Hatsan 95 lately to much I guess :)

Sounds like a great shooter. I am still not sure why I thought it was a springer? Oh well.

Ok,

I just ordered 2 of them, one in .177 and one in .22. I hope I get good ones. .177 is backordered and the .22 ships tomorrow.

hey please keep me posted as I am considering on buying another one myself man I sure like mine and I feel this is a nice plinking rifle! :)

The pointed field pellets shoot well in my Marauder as well. I also shoot them in a Gamo Shadow.
You can also get 500 pack tins of .22 Crosman hollow point's from Walmart for mid $6.00 right now too.

that's great! my ruger air magnum likes these pointed field pellets and I am glad to see that this beeman shot these very well and also the beeman liked the roundballs as well! :) also this morning I wondered if my rifle leaked down as it was still charged from yesterday and its still shooting just as strong!

Does it leak down if you leave a partial cylinder in it for any length of time??

How is the noise level??
