Question about Dan Wessons.

I've been looking to pick up a 10mm for a little while now and Dan Wesson is the direction I've decided to go. The thing is I want a bobtail but I like full size 1911's. Is it possible to swap out the shorter barrel and slide for longer ones? Or would it be a better idea for me to get a Razorback or Pointman and just have it bobtailed by someone like Bar-Sto?

Get the bobtail cut... do not mismatch slide and frame IMHO.

If you're handy with tools, you could order a jig from Brownells, along with a bobbed Ed Brown MSH, and bobtail a government model yourself.

You can have a fullsize 1911 'bobbed'

Call DW and have them do the cut for you. They do custom work. Who better to do it then them.

Depending on the price to have a full size bobtailed, you may want to check out what a Fusion build will cost you. Bob Serva used to run Dan Wesson and he'll build to whatever specs you want.
