Will G10 scales lose their coloration as they become worn down, the way plastic scales will?

I'm guessing no. Too, I cannot see wearing them down. I have a set on a CZ and doubt they're going to show much if any wear in my lifetime. It's tough stuff.

G10 is arguably about as good as it gets in a practical knife handle.

if you chemically "sterilize " G10 so there is no traces of chemical contamination by a few days in a .5% hydrochloric acid soak followed by 2 washes in purified water ultrasonic tank it does fade to grey from black. Ask me how I KNOW :)

I saw a thread where a guy managed to dye what I think was G10 grips on a gun. Came out terrible looking IMHO.

With G10 the color is through and through so it cannot wear out, and it's highly doubtful you'll ever wear them down.

If anyone tried to dye G10 like you can dye micarta I'd expect disappointing results.
