I just got a PT111 and when I loaded the magazine, I could hear a rattle noise in the bottom of the magazine. Is this normal? basically, with the magazine loaded, I can shake it like a maracca... Any thoughts?
Kinda funny, I'm going to be taking this one to the range for the first time today. I'm definitely going to shoot it anyway and I figure if anything goes wrong, I can always ship it to taurus for some fixin'
Both of the magazines I have for my PT-111 rattle depending on how the rounds settle in when loaded. Normally I can the give magazine a hard slap on the floor plate (when it's not in the pistol) and it settles the rounds in. Most of the time though I don't care enough to do that cause it still feeds fine even with the rattles.
I have five mags for my PT-111 and most of them rattle. It has no effect on how they feed. I have found that it also depends on they type and brand of ammo being fed. Winchester 100 round white box seems to rattle the least.
Both my PT-111 mags also rattle when fully loaded. The gun loads and fires fine, but the rattle makes CCW kind've disconcerting since it happens when I walk around. I found I could make the rattle stop by downloading the mags one round.
You guys must be talking about the "Taurus topoff indicator".
Mine rattles with 9 but not with 8 or 10. Both mags rattle the same way. No problems though. And mine seem just as bad with Winchester White Box. - It doesn't seem to matter what ammo I use.
yeah i get that rattle too, when the magazine is not fully loaded to ten rounds.
i got a Pro-Mag magazine for it and it never rattles, but it does jam the gun after every shot fired....
I don't own a PT 111, but I do have a PT 99, and in the Ramline 18 round mags, the bullets rattle around quite a bit. Never had any problems with it though, best buy I ever did.
