Hello Everyone,

I was wandering how everyone carries their CCW's and what kind of guns. Pictures are appreciated. Thanks

Also does anyone have a good way of concealing a Taurus 85 2"?

Taurus 85, works great in just about any pocket holster that fits it. To many options to name them all.
Smart Carry or IWB styles work with it too.

You can conceal a snubby anywhere as long as you haven't bought something I haven't heard about, like a forehead holster or BTE (Behind-the-Ear) holster.

Here's what I carry if I leave the house with pants on: (First photo on left)

Here's what I carry if dress permits: (Second photo)

If I have the Sig or if I'm wearing pants with a "vertical cut" pocket which hangs open, I carry the J-Frame in a Galco Ankle Glove: (third photo)

If I'm only carrying the J-Frame and my pants pockets aren't weird, it's in here: (Fourth photo)
In an Uncle Mikes pocket holster (Size 4, intended for 9mm/40 autos): (Last photo)

no pics right now, but I carry either a Smith 642, Glock 22, Glock 23, or Glock 27.

For holsters, a Galco horsehide pocket holster for J-frames, and Galco Combat Master holsters for the Glocks.

You can get the same holster I use for my J-frames for your Taurus 85:

same basic holster, just made for a different gun. Fits in your pocket, breaks up the outline... good stuff and high quality.

These days I carry a CZ P01. I use an Uncle Mikes IWB, a Safariland OWB and a cheap uncle mikes shoulder holster. Frankly I am not crazy about any of them. The IWB rarely if ever stays put when the firearm is drawn, I am unable to adjust the OWB to the point that I can quickly draw it and still have it hold securely and the shoulder holster is very bulky and for the most part a two handed draw.

Summer--Kahr PM9, DeSantis Nemesis, in the pocket of any pants or shorts.
Winter--Kahr P45/UBG IWB or 3" 1911/Milt Sparks Watch Six/Versa-Max II, IWB.

My daily carry is my KelTec P3AT (.380) which I carry in a Milt Sparks pocket holster (2nd picture on left). Great setup and SUPER comfortable.

P229 in an Uncle Mike's at 2 o'clock, but it gets old. I used to swear the weight never bothered me, but it feels like I have a brick in my front right pocket.

whatever I want whenever the law allows. Sorry about the graphic pics ;) All you would see with my shirt down though is a t-shirt. Not bad with a 1 year old pac-sun belt that's falling apart. My KD belt should be coming this week!

The Sheriff,

This comes up all the time. Get a good belt, Mitch Rosen makes mine. Get a good holster that was designed for your firearm. Milt Sparks makes ALL of mine. Don't waste your money trying to do it for $25 in some nylon nonsense off the bat, get your order in, do it right.

Here's mine:

(note that my computer camera flips photos horizontally. I'm a rightie and carry on my right. I usually just wear a loose hawaiian shirt, sometimes a loose T-shirt, took this picture a long time ago when I thought I needed extra layers for CCW)

I carry an 1911 in a simple, Uncle Mikes OWB synthetic (Kydex?) retention holster with retention strap, on my right hip, and cover with a jacket or longish un-buttoned, button up shirt, if weather permits. If it's too warm out for either of those, then I just done cover it. YMMV.

I have always wondered about that. I carry a springfield xd 45 compact in a nylon holster.... Does the leather make it more concealable??? Does it hold it closer to your body???

What are the ups of a nice leather one, besides longevity??

Leather gives a bit more friction, thus retention, it smells good, won't mark a finish, and will to some degree "mold" to your body if carried often and consistently. I don't have the "dresser drawer full of holsters" that many guys do, but I also bought good ones right off the bat.

I carry an HK45 sometimes in a holster in my right cargo pants pocket.

It looks like I've got a stuffed pocket, but it doesn't appear to be a gun, so I'm fine with it.

I say sometimes, because I'm a student, and 90% of the time, can't wear it thnx to those draconian "weapons free zone" laws that we have here... :barf:

I carry 2 CZ 75s in shoulder holsters' when the weather is cooler. I have the guns holstered backwards, sort of speak (with the handles facing outward and the barrel point down or slightly angled)...because I drawn faster from right to left and the same goes for the other side left to right. I wish I could get a pic for you, but unfortunately I do not have a dig. camera (seem to spend all my extra money on guns (gun related parts/materials) and car parts (i.e. turbo upgrades, nitrous system for intercooler...are 2 of my newest purchases). I also carry these 2 inwaist holsters, but as they are full size, they are harder to conceal.

Now the weather has got hot as heck...I have been carring my CZ SP-01 and my HK USP Compact(occassionaly my Ruger P95, but it's a little harder to conceal than the other 2 listed) in inwaist hosters or beltclip holsters. I also tend to wear looser clothing (for example a slightly larger button-up shirt to help conceal the firearms.

On an unrelated note, when I'm out in the woods/side of the mountain, I wear a thigh holster and I more than likely have a rifle with a carring sling.

Here's an article.......Hot Carry in Louisiana

This type of thread comes up from time to time. Here is the last incarnation of it, with plenty of pictures. I'm not going to close this one, as it does promote discussion of new techniques with established members and provides established techniques to new members.

I would advise that the search function be used as well, however, and may save the thread originators some time in getting answers.

Commander sized 1911 in a Galco IWB holster at about 3:30.
