I have been using hs-6 for my 40 and 45, now I want to use it for 9mm. My plan is 115 fmj rainier bullets mixed cases. What has been the best load and oal.
Any data appreciated.

I agree, most plated bullets should be loaded with lead data and if you can't find lead data use up to middle jacketed bullet data.Hodgdon has good load data for all their powders online.

Using Rainiers I would start with the lead data and work up.
as much as it hurts me to admit it, I get better accuracy from Longshot than HS-6 but that's with a 124/125gr bullet, not a 115gr bullet.
Agreed, there's a very short load range for 115gr. It made me think twice about using it, but I've never seen any pressure signs with any of my HS-6 loads.Oop's, I some how missed my previous comment, but I'll add that I don't like the short charge table, which is my only issue with HS6. But even so, it has never spiked at the high end.

I agree, HS-6 isn't a problem, I just find Longshot to be a little more accurate. If LS was unavailable I could easily live with HS-6. (especially since I'm a huge fan of HS-6/W540)Actually Arch, I prefer Longshot over HS6 as well. But HS6 didn't give me any problems really, it just seemed a to have a tendency to get spikey at upper end velocities, unlike LS. At mid table or less, it ran smooth and cycled the actions just fine.

Are you using a magnum primer in those loads?HS-6 is currently my favorite 9mm powder. Very forgiving powder which cycles well, burns reasonably cleanly. I use it to push 124gr RMR plated RN.
