Can the bottom plate on a Remington 700 SPS V in .308 be swapped or upgraded to the detachable box mag???

Not looking for a 20 round mag or anything, I just want to be able to load the box with 3-5 rounds (or whatever it would hold) and slap it in there...

If so, is it something that an amateur (I stress amateur) could do or is it a full on gunsmith job???

One of my shooting buds and I both have the 700 and we both have large (read fat sausage like) fingers and it would make it so much nicer to be able to load it like that... Not to mention when it gets colder and we use gloves....

20+ Reads and no responses???

I would have thought for sure someone here would know this....

I found this....

But I wasn't 100% sure it would work for my rifle and they are of course on backorder....

Anyone used one???

The DBM pic is an H&S Precision unit.
MidwayUSA also sells the H&S DBM units.
Badger Ordnance makes a DBM also.

Inletting your stock's mag well to remove the taper fore/aft is required for installation.
I've inlet/installed several of each variety.

Back to this again, now that I've shot it a ew times I really want this done...

Anyone know any reputable shops in St. Louis or close by I could take my 700 too and have this and maybe a few other things done???
