CCed .45acp pistol/SIG sauer DAK model P-220 compact

If you are interested in carrying a small/compact size .45acp 1911a1 pistol I'd look into the Kimber models. www.kimberamerica.com . A commander size .45acp with a rail for lasers/lights would work well. Note; most shooting incidents take place at night/low light. I'd avoid using the 10mm for CC/protection use. The 10mm is very powerful but for a small size pistol, it's recoil/control may be an issue. Research Fish V Arizona too to learn how a 1911a1 10mm pistol with JHP rounds helped get a retired teacher(with no criminal record) convicted for shooting an attacker while hiking in a wooded area.
You may also want to consider the SIGsauer P-220R DAK model(compact). This is a DA only pistol(with a smooth even action) that is the same size as a commander type .45acp 1911a1. www.sigsauer.com

For .45acp loads, I'd use the Speer Gold Dot 200gr JHP +P or the 230gr JHP +P from Remington Golden Saber, Winchester Ranger T or Corbon.
