I got word on a guy selling a Glock 23C with an added .357 Sig barrel and two boxes of ammo for $475.

A) Would that be a good deal? I am hoping he will give even a little on the up front price.

B) I know very little about the compensated Glock models.

C) I have a lead on a good deal of .357 Sig ammo at a lower price than I can get on .40. Would running .357 Sig through this model of Glock wear it out before its time?

Any info is helpful. I am not dead set on buying it yet and just need to get some advice from fellas who know.

Thank you all in advance.

a. thats a fair price if it looks close to new, keep in mind Glock can refinish slides for only $45. $475 is a good price.

b. I also know very little about compensated Glocks. You can shoot them from a retension position without getting burnt, but the extra blast is noticeable. Is the .357 compensated to?

c. not any more than .40, about the same wear. If you wear out a Glock to the point where its more than just small parts replacement, post pics, thast would be a new one.

The Glock 23 is my favorite Glock.

I have a 23C and IMO that's a good deal these days, if it's in great shape. Without the extra barrel it would be fair, not great. I paid about $400 out the door for mine new but that was about 10 years ago.

But the .357 holds no interest for me... all I know is it's a lot more expensive than .40 so I wouldn't shoot it anyway. :D

The 23C is a nice, solid, totally dependable gun, but if you shoot it in very cold temps you may notice quite a bit of muzzle blast/concussion. I did the last time I shot mine. I'd never noticed it before (in warm/hot temps) but in the cold it was quite unpleasant.

I've put a smooth G22 trigger and extended mag release on mine and it's just about perfect now. Night sights would be nice, though.
