For users of FP-10, do you still use grease on your guns in high friction areas? Are any other solvents needed, if you use copper jacketed bullets? Does it need to be reapplied if you don't shoot your firearm for an extended period?
Also, how do you best apply FP-10? I have read that the bottle drips and wastes alot. There is a new aerosol spray version that sounds great, but it is only a 2 ounce size and expensive for the amount you get. How do you get a thorough controlled application? Thanks for any advice.

I don't, won't use the stuff.

Word is the folks that make it have their own forum, I'd check with them.
Frees up bandwith on this and other forums.
I'm sure you will learn more than you want about their product and then some. Will hear more than you want about any competitor's product as well.

Different environs , firearms themselves and task used, inspection and maint. will dictate for each person, firearm and req's.

Used crankase oil might be best if hunting on a ranch or farm...game will think you are just another farm /ranch truck.

FP-10 stays put for the most part when lightly used, but a heavy oiling will have it migrating all over the place and getting in places you don't want lube. The bottle is easy enough to use and I have never had any trouble with it dripping. If you have trouble applying it put the bottle in the refrigerator, it will thicken a little and slow down how fast it comes out of the bottle. FP-10 is a good choice if you must lube for extreme cold (below 0), otherwise Mobil 1 5w50 engine oil is tops in my book for gun oil and a replacement for grease in guns altogether. FP-10 does not dry out, semi-annual replacing should be plenty. Copper bullets in a rough bore need copper solvent to clean it out. Copper bullets in a smooth bore allow you to use just about anything. Your gun will dictate what you should use.

I like FP-10 and keep a bottle handy, but it is not the first bottle I reach for when maintaining my guns.

1) I blend my FP-10 with high quality grease for lubing. I use RIG+p for my stainless guns and Brian Enos Slide Glide for the others. I mix it about 50-50 generally. The grease keeps it in place better.

2) I don't think it needs to be re-applied if the gun is not used.

3) the easy way to apply oil or grease to a gun is with a small modeler's paintbrush you can get from a hobby shop. Mine is just the width of the slide rails and channels which makes it really easy to apply a thin sheet of lube.

4) Other solvents? I use mineral spirits for general cleaning and acetone if I want to strip a part bone dry. I don't use copper-attacking solvents in the bore because they stink terribly and are not good for the bore.

I also mix mine 50/50 with rig grease either std or the +P for stainless depending on gun im cleaning and lubeing.

I like to sue qtips to apply the grease/oil mix to frame rails etc sure might waste some absorbing into qtip but easy to apply

Other stuff i use is non chloranted (sp) brake cleaner from wally mart 1.56 works as good as gunscrubber and is the same stuff except not 6$ a can

The only place I use grease after switching to FP-10 is on the OD of the barrel bushing where it locks in the slide. I got a nice tub, cheap, of PL-10 from the same mfr at a local distributor. Initially I used it on frame rails an barrel lugs even mixed with FP-10, I find the liquid lube works better by itself, no mess, no visible additional wear. The PL-10 grease is fantastic wherever grease is called for, beats the pants off Pro-gold as an antiseize...
